Ok appreciate massive numpty question but I have several old phones cameras pcs all with photos on. I want to transfer to my iPad. How do I do?

I'm Android rather than Apple, but surely it's as simple as a USB cable and whatever adapters you might need?

If any of them are Android phones, sign into a Google account and synch Google Photos. You can then navigate to Google photos on your browser and download from there. Sure there will be a similar process with Apple iCloud.
You'd be better leaving them on the cloud rather than filling up your iPad though.
