[Closed] Exeter Shortcake recipe

Ours girls having it for school dinner next week and we wanted to try it beforehand.
But we have never heard of it nor able to find a recipe for it online - can anyone help?

Google beef Exeter shortcakes, brings up 'Exeter stew', which is a beef stew with (herby) dumplings, which might be what it's meant to be? Old recipe [url= http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/38820494 ]reprint[/url]

Z1ppy's suggestion corresponds to what I remember from school days, with the dumplings forming more of a cover than individual balls of stuff.
