I bought one of these a few months ago and ive been using it locally for my business.
Had to go up the M1 in it today and its restricted to 70mph. How are they restricted, mechanically or electronic, anyone know?
I'm thinking of having it remapped so wondering if that might remove the limiter.
Cheers, naffa

Did you get a full service history frm BT ?
I only ask as my mates brother did a stint at one of their vehicle depots and the servicing wasnt quite in line with any manufacturers recomendations

Is the remap for improved bhp or better fuel economy?

Whatever you do it's an ex fleet van so it will have been treated badly (unless you're really lucky). Remapping for more grunt is like putting lipstick on a pig and expecting it to look like Catherine Deneuve.

Agreed, my organisation used BT Fleet for servicing.  Lets just say that Dave Hinde have far better customer service and quality.

There's more than one system I believe.

Some are ECU changes, others are piggy back black boxes that affect throttle and/ or inlet manifold.

I'm guessing a remap specialist will know.

Question is why you'd bother. It will go at the limit, it's fairly old and may not have been treated that kindly. Putting more stress on the engine from "enhancing" it might be a bit of a risky game as well as insurance implications.

That’s ok because that’s the speed limit.
HTH.

I had my fiesta diesel van mapped for performance a few years ago, made it a little faster in the mid range, biggest improvement was how much nicer it was drive, so much better on part throttle, much smoother to drive.
Also gave about 2-3 better mpg.
