Has anybody been (or regularly goes) to Everyman?

Seems a bit more expensive than a regular cinema, is it worth the extra?

Depends what you are after. Comfy chairs and sofas, tables, half decent wine and snacks. It is more social than a mega complex but you don't always want that when going to see a film.

I see there's a few new ones opening, one of which is in York. Not sure how it'll compare to the city screen picturehouse although I guess they're a bit more 'art' and show a wider variety of films.
It'll be a good thing if they improve the existing Reel fleapit that they're apparently moving into!

Yep also been to couple of these, great to have a decent beer on a comfy sofa, only down side is you'll never look at your local cineworld the same way!!

We have one locally and going is on my to do list. My only issue is the beer and sofa thing sounds very much like my living room. The AV part of the experience would need to be much improved from the reasonable sized telly and surround sound at home to make up for emptying the wallet, having to share the space with others, dragging my arse 15 miles to the place and playing paper/scissors/stone with the wife to find out which of us is not drinking.

Yeah it's great fun, worth the extra £ in my book.

Added entertainment value from watching some old cheapskates get their smuggled-in bottle of wine taken off them as well 😀

About £1.90 per person extra if you buy a membership....great, great, great cinemas. No chavs lobbing popcorn using phones and shouting.

Not going to tell you where I my local is.....in case you send the chavs round....
