We are going to drive to the alps Covid allowing. I feel the need for some basic level of breakdown cover. I am very hands on and can fix anything on my own car which is a 2004 Mk1 Skoda Octavia which is very reliable. I have no real worries about it making the journey. But would like a level of cover that would dray me off the motorway and get me to a garage if the worst happens. Has anybody found good companies as lots will only do cars upto 15 or 16 years old. We will be driving down over weekends / late into the evening.

I have cover with Start Rescue and I'm pretty certain they cover vehicles of any age. Good prices also.

If you've got/willing to get a Nationwide current account, their FlexPlus covers vehicles of any age in Europe.

This is what we've got, covers our 54 plate campervan in Europe (and 55 plate Mazda ShedOnWheels in the UK)

@vinneyeh
Cheers for that, I thought there might have been an age limit, pleased there isn't! 👍

We had our Galaxy (11+12 years at the time) serviced by Ford main stealer as it was on offer with free European recovery via Ford dealers. No age limit.
