I got a year europe wide on my van for £50(ish) from Lifesure.
Just get ADAC cover as your normal breakdown and it will cover Europe - ie UK as well. About 80euros a year.
After the first year with no claims, I get the top Green Flag cover all year round in the UK and up to 60 days at a time (or something like that) in the EU for about £70. That includes being put up in hotels and stuff, if they can't repair your car, plus bringing your car back to the UK, if the worst comes to the worst. It was around £100 for the first year.
AA/RAC seem to charge about £60 for a 2 week holiday in the EU + £100 odd for UK cover, so GF is well worth it - I'm effectively getting the UK cover for free.
