I am in São Paulo and just watched the Germany Portugal game whilst on the main screen we had Brazil vs Argentina (a friendly but not so friendly!). It was Argentina 4 Brazil 3, and I have to say Messi scored some stunning goals.

wish i hadn't watched germany v portugal.

one day i might be able to watch the germans celebrating with a degree of magnanimity on my part - but i seriously doubt it.

Croatia could ruffle a few feathers, I quite fancy them against the Italians, not so sure against the Spanish, but it should be a good game, 2 teams playing the game the way it should be played.

cant bring myself to make a prediction for todays match, half tempted to stick a tenner on a french win just to ease the pain.

I can't see us getting anything out of tonight's game. A draw would be the best we can hope for, I reckon. And even that's unlikely

It'll be interesting to see how the other game finishes though, to see what kind of form they're both on. As that's where we'll need to pick up points.

Oh... and another vote for Spain being incredibly tedious to watch. All those endless little triangles didn't often seem to bother the Italian defense much

What game are you playing? I'm in the McDonalds one, and have Debuchy, Benzema, and Lescott in today's game.

I've got Hart, Evra, Lescott, Ben Arfa and Parker in my FF team for this evenings game

Might put a couple of quid on Lescott as first scorer too. He used to score loads for Everton, and Roy's teams depend a lot on set pieces. Two good keepers playing so 1-0 either way for me.

i'm intrigued to see how hodgson lines us up. if he plays his usual banks of four it's hard not to see gerrard and parker being overrun.

all the pundits seem to think that if there is a chink in the french armour, it's at the centre of their defence. it wouldn't surprise me if at some stage we are hitting carrol from 40 yards as it might well be the best way to get at them. to be honest, and i'd love to be proved wrong but i can't see much joy coming from young and wellbeck trying to play around them.

who cares. Half an hour till coverage starts, 90 mins till kick off, time to stop worrying about who may or may not play and just get behind the boys!
