I’m buying a new kitesurfing kite from a German website and they are advertising “VAT reduction on countries outside the EU. How’s this work ? I assume we are now classed as officially “ non EU” now ? Should the price be reduced by the EU VAT rate (19% in Germany)

Thanks

We’re still in transition nothing has changed, apart from we have no say in EU laws.

careful what you wish for.

if that happens it'll be reduced by 19% and then 20% VAT would be added when it hits the uk.

And import duties in future, as if you were getting stuff from the US or Asia?

I *think* this is what JRM referred to as part of the 'Brexit Dividend'. Everything will be EU VAT free* post leaving.

*t's & c's apply

No one saw it coming.

Imports will be cheaper, we’ll all be paid more, paperwork will be a thing of the past, and “garlic bread” will once again be just… “bread”.
