I doubt that at his age and in his evidently poor condition, he would not have the levels of stamina, energy and focus that the job would require.
Age and maintenance comes to us all, as I am in the process of finding out.

He seems of more sound a mind than May. Kens bipartisan affableness would go a long way towards healing this country.

No doubt the beneficial effects of his long relationship with the tobacco industry.

Despite being the best Prime Minister that the U.K. never had

A craven alcoholic who's in the pockets of the tobacco companies? Yeah right!

The last thing on earth this country needs right now is a Tory leadership election. But with this lot, and the way they ALWAYS put the party's interests before that of the country, that doesn't mean we won't get one

Rees-Moggs 'question' to her about whether he should now be writing a letter was clearly a rallying cry to the headbangers. Its just a question of whether that many of them are so unhinged as to throw the country into further chaos?

What is refreshing about this is the amount of MPs asking for a Peoples Vote.

Flippin hard to believe that 40% of the country still think leaving is a good idea! I didn't realise that the circulation of the Daily Mail was that large!

A craven alcoholic

Amazing then isn't it that he seems to speak more sense than the whole of the (presumably) sober cabinet?

On the contrary. The more chaos, the more chance there'll be of the whole thing being cancelled. My view for a long time has been that the men in grey suits in shady back rooms will never allow a no deal to happen as there is just too much money at stake. Political chaos and a dysfunctional government provides the opportunity for the whole thing to be suspended pending resolution of the crisis. Once it's suspended, the chances of it being cancelled altogether are vastly increased. Basically short term pain for long term gain.

Rees Mogg is a very very dangerous individual. I know many people think he's a joke and a pastiche (which he is as well) but he is also deadly in his ambition to disrupt and grab as much power as possible in the ensuing confusion. Total sociopath and normally in govt there would be enough checks and balances to see he never got in a position to do any harm but clearly that ship sailed long ago. I mean the whole ERG was his idea, been around five minutes and now its being given equal credence with labour - you hear media pundets citing comments from both in the same breath. Wouldn't be suprised if it morphed into a new party.

Maybe, just maybe that's been the plan all along.  Destroy the whole thing from the inside. Would be a masterstroke of political engineering if it is but I doubt it.  More like there was no hope of any deal being made whatsoever and we are now completely helpless.

"Flippin hard to believe that 40% of the country still think leaving is a good idea! I didn’t realise that the circulation of the Daily Mail was that large!"

Come here to Wales and you'll easily find a load of people who still think Brexit is a good idea.  Unbelievable considering we gain a massive amount from the EU Development Fund, some of these people actually work for an EU department!!  That big, new road being built to get people from the North and the Midlands to BPW quicker? (I know, not it's intended route but it's as far as it will now go!) Funded by the EU.  But no, we'd still be better out.

Gove is the next Brexit secratary apparently. I suppose he issued a threat that he'd resign if he didn't get it.

The terminally dense Penny Mordaunt must be gone next, surely?

In other news - Rees Mogg has convened a meeting of the ERG (and yes, I agree that they're givem far far too much credility for what is essentially a splinter group of far right lunatics)

A craven alcoholic who’s in the pockets of the tobacco companies?

I hadn’t noticed anything craven about it.

Bloke likes a drink and a fag. Gets a bung from the companies who supply one of his pleasures.

And let’s not forget his bar bill alone probably kept Ronnie Scots afloat during the “Crap Food Years”.  😇

Having watched his performances on QT, I’d have to ask - what’s not to like?

His appalling treatment of haemophiliacs, when he was health secretary.

Probably something caused by his tendency to talk absolute bollox every time he opens his gob.

Molgrips, seriously?!  The Heads Of The Valley Dualling.  The whole idea was/is to make it continuous dual caiirgaeway from the M50 to Swansea and the Valleys, plus the addition of loads of industrial parks along it's route.  It's one of the main drivers for companies like Aston Martin to move to South Wales in the last few years: efficient road links to their suppliers.  Massive project only possible by funds from the EU Objective 1&2 pots.  The WAG is positively shitting itself that the EU may not pay the full build cost for the current section between Gilwern and Brynmawr, let alone the remaining sections.  The current section's build costs is 3x the annual total WAG budget!  Add in the proposed M4 relief road and there's no hope of any budget being made available to do either without outside help.

No matter what happens over the next few days in Westminster (even if a miracle happens) we're screwed here in Wales.

Are people leaving the debate to conspire and sharpen the knives?

It seems a lot emptier now.

Theresa is looking like she about to run to the toilet crying. It feels like the other MP's acknowledge it's a busted flush.

It'd be interesting, that now the actual deal is on the table & people know what it'll mean to leave the EU if there was a vote tomorrow if the Leavers would swing at all...

That picture of Farage makes me want to shove that glass in to his gaping pie hole, then re-enact the "kerb" scene from American History X.  He's such a c**t.

Where's he gone, now that the poo is not only on the fan, but liberally sprayed across the entire country?

I like to keep a few of the more ... erm, how shall I put this.... 'intellectually challanged' guys I used to go to school with as Friends on Freindface. One of them just posted the following:

100% betrayal by the Prime minister and the Conservatives l am Briitish and l do not recognise the EU, it's authority, laws or legislation!

I know that we're not meant to say that Brexit voters are a bit thick, but.... you know....

He's done the whole tour bolstering his contacts book so I'd guess he's now in hiding until the whole shitstorm is over, then he'll resurface somewhere to line his pockets again.  Probably on HIGNFY.

Ask him if he is happy to be told to what to do by the Swiss and their corrupt banking cronies.

No surrender to the WTO.

He's on LBC every week night (and bloody Sunday) picking up a cheque, and enjoying the calls as his pig meat cockney fan club ring in.

I shit you not.

I actually feel sorry for May now.

I've been in her situation in work before where swivel eyed loons are asking for the moon on a stick then berating you at every turn for not turning water into wine. I don't know why she hasn't told them to stuff the job up their arses and retired into the sunset. I can't imagine there's a single drop of job satisfaction for her right now

Chairman of 1922 Committee says no announcement on leadership challenge will be made. So watch this space.

JRM has submitted a letter of no confidence.

Leadership election it is then! Things are now getting interesting, and I have to admit I'm rather enjoying it. I'll say one thing for brexit, it has provided first class political theatre, and I get the feeling this latest act has only just started.

Can someone remind me what the DUP actually want to happen with their border with the Republic and the one with the rest of the UK?

They want to work under the same laws as the rest of the UK except when they dont.

Simple really.

It's only a matter of time now JRM has played his hand. May is finished. Perhaps that was her plan all along?

Keep head down, retain support, wait for leadership election then start waving. Self interest before everything else.
