Well sort of but mostly not
He took 52.5 per cent of the vote in the presidential race, with more than 99 per cent of the votes counted.
According to results broadcast on Turkish television Mr Erdogan's AK Party took 42.5 per cent in the parliamentary polls, and was boosted by its nationalist allies, which outstripped expectations and took 11.1 per cent.

Not a sweeping victory and not one that will unite a country
It certainly won’t make Turkey more “Western”.
And, as with a democratic process, he and those that believe in a similar manner won....
I am guessing we in the west see it as a wrong result. Depends if you think democracy works....

Depends on how the democracy is working, how free are the people and the contest.
He is able to suppress any criticism in the media, he has jailed tens of thousands of academics and journalists etc. Given the grip he has on the messages the nation hears, he has done appallingly bad.
