does a employer get a tax rebate to cover a employee being on the sick?

no, they get a small contribution to SSP back from the government.
we worked out the cost of claiming it was almost more than it was worth.

so if a employee went a whole year without sick, the employer would, in a roundabout way, make a slight financial gain?
