Anybody got an EMF meter reader I can rent or borrow, just want to check what emf is coming from the substation next door if any?
you're unbelievable
Damn you, Brakes!
Beat me to it.
I downloaded an EMF meter app for me iphone months ago.
It was a bit useless.
What do you think is coming from it? Electromagnetic waves are everywhere - harmless.
I suppose just to stop my stupid paranoia, I spoke with western power today and the guy sent me some information on them which I have read, and also a plan of the cable runs, I'm not the type of person who normally let's this kind of thing bother me - but for some bizarre reason this one has.
Is it a distribution sub at 11kV or a primary at 33kV or above with an open compound?
Onzadog - fill your (heavily insulated) boots...

Distribution 11kv
With metal fence round it
Well any 'EMF reader' will just be a radio receiver and will only pick up electromagnetic waves of a certain frequency range. For example it wouldn't pick up anything between 430–790 THz, but you probably already own a set of sensors that'll pick those up
From what i have been reading its about microteslas, so the meter actually reads in this frequency.
Emf is volts... Ergo - forget about the tinfoil hat brigade and think yourself lucky you have a Crackin pssc...
Substations don't bother me, but I'll be damned if I'd want to live close to high-tension power cables, or have a pylon nearby. Anything that causes my bike to give me electric shocks when I'm standing below it I isn't something I want to be anywhere near for any period of time. 😯
