Sat watching the end of the Bond film when Mrs B hears a commotion in the kitchen. It would appear that the cat has brought a live mouse into the house and it has been playing with it in the kitchen but has now run behind the kitchen units. Any ideas?

Remove the plinths from the kitchen units and use a torch and broom to drive the mouse out.

That's going to have to wait till morning. Need to block up other hidey holes first (under the range, fridge/freezer, etc)for now the cat is standing guard in the kitchen, door shut

Nail up the cat flap

Seems a bit extreme, beside it might be a male cat.

That's quite a sound bit of advice really, all things considered.

Thomas likes to bring live mice in, then when you try too take em off him he crunches em up
Live and headless birds turn up almost daily
Last summer a 2ft headless snake appeared in the kitchen

Shut the cat in the kitchen overnight. Our cat brought a mouse in the other night and was trying to get at all the following day (it had hidden behind the bookcase). The following morning the cats were no longer interested in the bookcase and there were mouse body parts scattered on the carpet.

Yes of course I can. Do an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery.

Oh, and you'll need a dovetail saw too.

Good luck.
