EE offer of TNT Sport on Discovery Plus switching to HBO - can't get access - Help!!

So last year we took up the EE offer of cheap TNT Sport & a free TV through Discovery Plus.

But now its switched to HBO.

So if I go on Sky, Apps, HBO, I can look at the HBO listings & recorded, in my case, MotoGP & WSBK. I go into my recordings, see all the races I've recorded & press select. It states get access, I press & it states your package isn't correct contact Sky.com/mysky/tv.

If I log on to Sky it states HBO is already yours. But I can't watch the races.

I rang Sky, they said ring EE.

Wife rang EE, they said use same user & password as Discovery Plus - but it doesn't ask for a user name & password.

Has anyone had the same issue & cured it??

I’m a little confused are you saying you managed to record MotoGP on what I assume is a Sky Q box?

Thats never worked for me I’ve always launched the Discovery+ app and then just found highlights etc, never had the ability to record. I have an EE TNT membership not Sky.

Moving to HBO was the same I can watch HBO via an app on Sky Q but can’t record.

I also find the HBO app much quicker on my LG tv rather than accessing through Sky

Yes, went on Sky menu, Apps, HBO, then selected what to record - yes, Q box. But I can't watch what I've recorded, thats my issue. It states I don't have access.

Never thought to find the App on the just the TV.

I'm not on EE for TNT sports,I buy it as an add on to my Sky Stream setup but when HBO Max launched the other day, I went to the app on my Sky box. It asked me to enter my email address on screen, which was the one I use for Sky and for TNT Sports. No password required. App did it's thing and my sports stuff is all available

Based on real knowledge at all other than a hunch.

I would imagine that your recording was made when Discovery+ owned the rights to the recorded. They no longer broadcast TNT so you can no longer access that recording.

As I said you should still be access highlights or even the full recording via the new app.

Not had a Sky Q, but just left one of the old HD boxes - if access to any recordings is blocked on a Sky device, then it's Sky blocking it.

They need to provide an answer. I think you have to threaten to leave before you get any decent help from them!

I set the recording in the App. App access through SKY.

This seems a fair guess

The change to HBO Max has impacted quite a few things. For example, I pay £5 a month for ad-skipping but all the shows that now fall under HBO Max content can't have the ads skipped (unless I pay a tenner to HBO)

It also removed series I had linked under favourites that are now under the HBO content banner

I also noticed that episode summaries have all changed to some kind of AI thing for HBO shows. In particular I noticed the Sopranos summaries are now very strange, and in one episode the summary says "Character X murders Character Y", which is a lovely way to spoil it for any first time viewers
