We will be in touch
Just clearing things out at home, got an old Nintendo Wii. Hardly used, have the box and manuals, 10 or so games, guitar etc.
They seemed pretty popular maybe because of lockdown so decide to eBay it. £50 start on eBay suggestion.
Get an offer today for £82.20 which was an odd amount, slightly odd English (English may not be the first language though). So I decline it and ask are they a legit buyer. I get a counter for another odd amount just over £100 saying can we negotiate.
I found an item they are selling and asked them a question as that’s the only way I can message I think, but had no reply.
Their handle “retro games” or something would indicate this is the kind of article they would buy. Maybe one of the games is rare or something, but if they said that then I could understand.
They have 50k feedback, but I am aware accounts get hacked, and seemingly people have left positive but the reading the comments were never paid.
A friend posted a working Garmin, had a buyer claim broken and posted him back a different unit while receiving a refund from PayPal so I am a bit weary about scams.
WWSTW do, can I block the person from bidding? Accept and see if they pay?
Their location is the opposite end of the country so sausages and bombers off the list.
They may just know what it's worth and want to avoid having to bid up to that amount. Not sure what more you can do here to avoid any issues, if in doubt though just dont bother unfortunately this is how ebay works and why the feedback system is key. What else do they have for sale, what's their feedback like etc
Price seems in line with recent sold items on eBay, depending what you're selling exactly. No reason to think it's a scam but I'd just let the auction run.
That's my mantra too... Let the auction run
They have 50k feedback

Not much time for small talk then 🙂
Just let the auction run - there's no real reason to accept offers on an auction, someone who's keen can just bid like anyone else
Just let it run.
If you're worried about scams, sell it on FB Marketplace or Gumtree for cash pick up...
They have maybe offered in euro and it's been converted into the odd £ value?
There will be others buyers that don't give you cause for concern, so just sell to those.
If you're suspicious add their eBay ID to your blocked bidder list to prevent them bidding/buying
