I've just sold something on ebay and its said the payment has completed but the funds are being held by paypal and won't be released until the 7th may

ANyone know what this means?

Yeah cos they are nobs. I think they do this if you have only a small amount of feedback, -ve feedbacks etc.

I hate PP but am forced to use it until a viable alternative comes along. I was sent a 'satisfaction survey' from PP yesterday and made it known how much I dislike them.

You get the money once +ve feedback has been left or after 30 days whichever comes first

Make sure you send it so there is proof of delivery, just like any other sale really
Think once you get a certain amount of feedbacks the money becomes instant payment

they made me wait for the full period even when I had received my positive feedback...did come through in the end

I have never had this, though I did use Paypal to buy stuff for quite a while before I started selling. So maybe those earlier payments out by me counted in favour for me?

Having said that they now have a Notification on my A/C because I have sold so much stuff on eBay and got payment through PP. Have to do some resolution activites to sort this out. Though apparently this due to EU legislation to prevent money laundering.

I have had no real problems with PP. I don't like how long it takes for money transferred to my Bank Account takes. But that is a general complaint against all financial institutes and their methods.

I;ve since read that its apparently something to do with buyer protection.
