A bloke bought a thing from me on the understanding that it may not fit, (it's a motorbike part)

This was on the proviso that if it didn't fit we'd split the, considerable postage costs. It doesn't fit..

How do I refund minus the shipping?

Work out refund value.

Hit refund item.

It will give you options.

You just type in thevalue and submit.

Its gets refunded from the full amount you were paid. There is ne "refund postage" option

You can issue a full or a partial refund via the seller hub. Go with the partial option and put whatever number you have agreed.

Personally I'd message first and get the agreement in writing via eBay messages. Might help if it does go wrong

Did you put an identifying mark on yours so he can’t send you back his identical non-working part?
