[Closed] eBay and PayPal to become 2 separate companies.

I just received an email informing me of the above, but I have always found it amazing that the competition committee has not forced eBay to have to allow other payment processing companies into the fold for handling ebay payments from buyers.

I can't see this having any other result than somehow making it more expensive again to trade on eBay. eBay are very good at stealthily increasing their fees.

In theory this should mean that Ebay allow other electronic payment methods - unless they keep some sort of relationship with Paypal to take a cut? What's Paypal worth now? $1.5bn seemed a lot back then but must have been a great buy.
