Kendal is a culinary desert IME
The restaurant in the Brewery is ok, but only ok.
Pizza Express at the side of booths is nice, if you like that sort of thing, otherwise one of the surrounding pubs, The Station at Oxenholme is half decent or Windermere. / Ambleside have better options.
Sorry!

The New Moon is good, Station Inn at Oxenholme, Gianis used to be decent haven't been there in a while though. And if you fancy Thai, Jintana can't be faulted.

There's an excellent Indian as well, been there but can't remember it's name I'm afraid but it's just down the street from Bootleggers music bar, which is worth a visit for a pint.
