Elbow currently top of my list...yours?
Pink Floyd
Coldplay. mindless maudlin tosh.
radiohead
I'm surprised at a regular forum stalwart such as Al rehashing this recurring thread. Bored Al? ๐
Coldplay.
Oasis.
U2, mumford and sons, travis, james (when they were doing the comebackthing a few years ago, coldpaly (obviously), keane, manic street preachers, oasis, depressingly can't name any modern bands but just in case - they're all crap as well.
Sadly the one started by my good friend. And his singing is godawful. How do I tell him?
Alt J - Thought they were gash to start with, but agreed to go & see them with the mrs in a moment of weakness, thought i'd give them a chance to redeem themselves - without doubt, the dullest, most tedious 'live' performance I have ever witnessed.
And coldplay, bunch of librarians trying to be rockstars FFS!
Coldplay
Radiohead
Manic Street Preachers
REM
Moany old tosh, the lot of it
KASABIAN!! Just offensive.
Was also going to say Kasabian.
I just read an interview where they say they're doing something different, "moving things forward" with each album.
So I listened to the imaginatively titled 48:13 and lasted about 08:03
Dull ain't the half of it.
The Killers.
Kings of Leon.
Metallica.
Blur.
And half of the above.
All personal taste, of course.
U2
Early U2 were great fun and I loved Achtung Baby.
The Americanised overblown middle bit put me right off.
Oh, forgot Simple Minds - just puts me to sleep.
beatles
coldplay
keane
U2
REM
Rolling Stones. ACDC. Mettalica.
None of the ones I like.
All of the ones I don't like.
Elbow, like being punched in the ears by beige. Worst band in the world.
emsz, you go wash your mouth out with soap. Now!
Great another "what popular mainstream culture can I slagg off today?" thread..
I mean they are popluar and all of the above have sold millions of albums so what's so bad about them? (apart from Kasabian, they are like own brand cornershop crisps, the packaging and format is all there but the taste and experience leave you underwhelmed)
ROXY effing MUSIC.
I mean they are popluar and all of the above have sold millions of albums so what's so bad about them?
They're sh1te.
The **** script. Whiney spineless dog* music which provokes irrational anger. ****s.
Coldplay - neighbours currently have it blasting as "Mum" is out and it's the most hideous diatribe of shite I've ever had the displeasure of enduring....
Manics
Beatles
Doors
Oasis
Manic street porters
Pulp
Pink floyd
like being punched in the ears by beige
Is that like having your tinnitus tw*tted by taupe?
Coldplay!
I just can't be arsed to bother, the usual list of globally loved bands is being posted up, again, and it's just getting tedious.
just a comment on midlifecrashes' photo -
"works with all major name band"
They are rubber bands, it's hard to imagine a scenario where you might encounter incompatibility ๐
I disliked your favourite band before it was popular to dislike them.
CountZero - MemberI just can't be arsed to bother, the usual list of globally loved bands is being posted up, again, and it's just getting tedious.
It's interesting though.
Perhaps people just honestly don't like 'them'?
I just have music I like and music I don't.
There is no right or wrong.
If it exists, someone, somewhere will get off on it.
๐
Although having said all that, Echo and the Bunnymen were genuinely appalling.
Good spot Woppit. ๐
- always thought 'Arse' would be a good name for a tribute band for them.Elbow currently top of my list...yours?
Coldplay are definitely the dullest band around.
Deluded another option would be Spanish Archer.
๐Deluded another option would be Spanish Archer.
Yes - Dull turgid, second rate prognotoss.
Evolved into a second rate Rush.
See also Emerson, Lake and Palmer and all but 15 minutes of King Crimson's entire catalogue.
U2, Coldplay and Elbow for me.
My band are pretty crap too....I wouldn't say we're overated though....most people think we're crap ๐
Elbow are awful, their beer however is lovely
Well that's almost all of my CD collection named so far!
I'd like to add any syncopated jazz that sounds like a group of people playing several tunes all at the same time to different beats.
