MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Don't know how I missed this, being a bit of a Jaguar fan myself:
😀
Cool!
Very nice car ...
I have has a couple in the past both diesel..a 2.0 X type and the 2.7 twin turbo S type ..
Of the current range I really like the XF ..but currently out of my price range !
Fairly similar here hg!
I bought one of the early estate x-types in 3litre V6 Sport guise. Then I bought an S-Type 2.7 Diesel - a gorgeous car. Currently have a 3.0 V6 XJ (old school x350 model)...grace, space and pace as they say.
Really really want an XK but may need to wait a year or two until at least one of the kids leaves the house. Would love an F-type but only once the lotto number come up (and I only play once/twice a year).
X/S types just tarted up Fords though aren't they 🙂
F type looks great though. Not really into cars but if I won the lottery would definitely get one of those!
I'm still after one of those XFRs with the mods to make it sound like a spitfire
eta
Zilog..yeah you aren't wrong ..shared some of its characteristics with the Ford Mondeo ( X type ) ....still an ok car though which I enjoyed driving.
Not sure that the S type did though
That xfr sounds utterly mint
There are few cars which sound as good as my own lottery winning car, a V600 Le Mans (Number 007 of 40 is currently for sale!), but the SVR F-type is right up there.
Grandfather was an E-Type man, and I suspect he'd like the F.
I look less like that man at c&a and more like a budget lab experiment with a vague plan to create offspring of a harry hill / tim vine 'get-together'

No mods there, that's just what they sound like at full throttle. You can hear the whine from the supercharger just as you can on a Spitfire
Looks like an early Robbie Coltrane playing pool...
Unlikely that the arse will fall out of F-Types the way they did with the XKs but if it did a V8 would make a nice wee Sunday car / garage queen.
One of my bosses hates his F type. The nice throaty rorty sound is ace for about a day, then it's just loud...You can switch it off, but next time you get in..rrraaaaarrrrrr off it goes again.
I've offered to take it off his hands. I'm nice like that.

A Ford family platform jointly developed between Ford / Jaguar - also underpinned a Lincoln, a Ford Thunderbird and.... the first generation Jaguar XF.

The arse falls out of the value of every Jaguar model at some point. There was a time when E-types could be had for pennies.
The better news is that for those who can keep the things alive, they then climb - even XJSes which I remember being available for a couple of hundred £s not so many years ago now go for good money..
I was taken for a spin in an 5lt F type roadster by our AirBNB host when holidaying in France. He was very well known in the town he lived in and has the only example of the one he has in all of France, but that did not stop him taking me me on a trip through the town & out onto a dual carriageway & he was flat out the whole way. I can safely say I have never been round a bend/s so quick or been within 50mph of the speed he was going on the dual carriageway. An unexpected trip that finished off the holiday well. I do not condone such behaviour though! Very nice car.
What are newer Jags like these days for reliability. Seriously thinking about a 2-3 year old XF Sportbrake - probably a 2.2 197 bhp R Sport.
Good add that, nice car too.
Fun fact - Boring, Oregon is was the inspiration for the location of the excellent Disney cartoon Gravity Falls
When it starts up, it has a quake quad damage icon on the dash.
Just had a nose on the Jag website, interesting that the compare the base model to the competition and the most direct competetion, to me at least, (Cayman) beats it on all fronts. That’s brave.
Not sure which of the two I’d go for TBH. Better start thinking, will have the Euromillions cash to spend at the weekend.
I love my XF, it’s got the same 3l v6 380bhp petrol engine as in the F-Type S. No v8 currently available but I’m sure it won’t be long.
Had the pleasure of blasting around Andalusia recently in an F-Type and would buy one in a heartbeat if I didn’t have two kids who still need car seats.
The F type coupe is a beautiful thing but as said before damn do they depreciate! Makes them a good second buy if you like them. I very much prefer the look from the outside to inside and I'd agree (to previous poster) that the equivalent Porsches handle better

I know they're supercharged as standard but that particular one is the one they took to the salt flats and is modded. Can't remember the details but if you search "XF-R salt flats" you'll probably find it.
edit here you go

Jaguar superchargers are loud anyway. It’s probably the best noise mine makes.
A lady where I work has one of those F-types. She drives it into college bringing chairs in to do her upholstery class.
It stands out a bit from the rest of the class who mostly drive enormous 4x4's.
True story.
A mate is picking his up tomorrow
The Xfr that was run at 225mph at the salt flats was a standard engine, with calibration mods to unrestrict it. Just over 600bhp if I remember correctly. Lots of aero mods to reduce drag, but a fairly standard car.
It was some of my old team who supported the engine management mods.
