MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Hi
One for the camera experts out there.
My (totally underused) DSLR camera takes both xD and Compactflash memory cards.
Is there an answer to the question - Which is better?
Do card speeds make any difference? Or is the camera write speed the weak link?
Also, there seems to be a great deal of difference in the performance of branded CF cards and cheaper versions?
Basically, what would you buy?
CF can be had in faster versions than xD. Check your camera's max write speed and buy based on that. But... if you only take one picture at a time - no 5fps bursts or video, then it doesn't matter.
It's worth getting a card for each slot. Then when you leave your 'main' card in the card reader you'll still have the other. Or... if one fails... or fills up etc
