[Closed] Driving through Europe in a GB plated car - report from yesterday

Given our purchase of new house and move from CH to Scotland has been in process at a 'quite' unlucky time, every step has been fraught with extra stress.

Most recent has been: since I took possession of the new house in Stirling on June 1st, will I be able to leave the UK by ferry (Hull), and drive from Rotterdam to Basel, Switzerland? In a UK plated car? without major impediment, closed borders, demands of quarantine, demands to "show me your papers!" and being slapped across the face with a leather glove?

Even though on the 15th it was reported that all (most) EU zone borders were open, I even half expected to have rotten vegetable thrown at me as I drive through European towns or service stations, people running away, shielding their children etc. from the abomination of a disease ridden Brit reinfecting their country.

(please bear in mind that over the past few months the stress levels have driven a fertile imagination of all the possible things that can go wrong with this move)

TL:DR - I am delighted to report that I travelled through 5 countries (NL, B, L, F, CH) without incident

2 weeks ago, who would have believed this possible?

In fact, the only checks being the usual border guys at Rotterdam who simply looked at my passport and said "have a nice day", and 6.5hrs later at the swiss motorway 'vignette' seller at the Basel border. No passports, papers, 'attestations', reasons for travel etc etc, even though I had a huge folder on the passenger seat with every possible piece of proof as to the nature of my journey.

Whats the chances of us not having to quarantine when we arrive as a family in Scotland on the 1st of July? Keep fingers crossed folks!

Same here last week, but I got stopped a few times. UK Border wanted to know everything, had a few random spot checks at peage stations too. No bother actually travelling around UK (Spanish plates) even though I'd expected a bit of bother from the redneck Facebook vigilantes at the other end.
