What should I expect? I'll go with an open mind - I was in the wrong so will take the consequences....will I emerge re-educated re: speed or be made to look/feel a total nobber? (Not literally)...

Expect to 'learn' some questionable facts and meet some 'interesting' people

They're pretty good, I've been to two, one was run by ex police (strict) one by driving instructors, more chilled, but still learnt something each time.

Ah, yes seeing other drivers prejudices about cyclists and other road users is an eye opener!

Listen to what they have to say and marvel at the utter stupidity of the Course Knob* who knows better than everyone else and is a brilliant driver, yet still got done for speeding.

*There is always one.

Take it as you find it with an open mind.

You already know you've been irresponsible by your own admission, whether thought you could get away with speeding or not. You knew you broke the speed limit.

I don't think they are intended to be condescending, more informative.

Go open minded

I learnt quit a bit, some of the braking impact at different speeds was interesting, look beyond the arm folders and you might just come away with some good tips

There is always one.

I'm beginning to think he's planted by the people that run the course.

Did one some years ago. Some useful tips/info that you either didn't cover when you passed your test or had forgotten.
You might feel like an idiot for being there, but you won't be treated like one.

I recently attended one after speeding in a 30 mph limit.

Actually very good, better than I thought it would be.

Learnt quite a bit, and has helped changed my perspective on my driving habits.

Most people would benefit from a bit of a refresher, and being educated above safer driving habits.

Are you going on two, or just starting two threads?!
