Before you drive away, put some obvious tent pegs by the wheels on the driver's side; this makes it much easier to position your van accurately where it was before when you come back. This avoids the dreaded "flappy joiny bit" when you reattach it...

Make sure you know how it joins to your camper (or is it motorhome) and then buy one of those AirBeam ones and let me know how you get on with it 😉

My friend got a Vango Airbeam awning from JAS Conversions in Weston-super-Mare for a very competitive price.

I've got a decathlon base seconds. Pop up, cheap and great fit for for a t5.

Depends what you want to use it for. I got one of these recently for the T4 & it's brilliant for storing all your stuff & really easy to put up & attach.

It's not new forest pony proof though 🙂

Another vote for the base seconds... Erection in seconds as fellow campers watch in amazement at how quickly you can get it up..

Erection in seconds

Does it stay up though? That is the critical question.

+1 for Base Seconds.

Our driveaway awning was not very good. Big, heavy, inefficient space, a dog to erect and strike.

Such tent, good house, much lovely

It's a long flexible pole which actually twists round on itself and folds away... First time you do it it feels like it will snap. Not had any problems with mine... It's been up all night many a time

Vango Airbeam Sapera for our T5, 10 mins to put up 5 mins to take down, seems really well made, have used it half a dozen times in all weathers, gale force winds up at Glenmore still standing and intact in the morning where others were wrecked, comes with storm straps and various ways of attaching to the van, also has straps for securing when the van is not attached so can be used as a standalone and has a separate inner attachable bedroom/storage area. It also only has 3 guy ropes either side so minimal faff when erecting.
