I could do with drawing out a site plan for work, and was wondering what (free) software people would recommend.

Fairly minimal detail, need to show a river, site boundary and a few buildings, would google sketchup suffice or is there a better/ more user friendly option?

Thanks in advance.

I tend to just use a black pen, and ruler. Planning have never laughed or complained yet.

Draftsite if you can use CAD.

QGIS i think is free that'll get you mapping etc which might be handy?

I do all my planning applications in Powerpoint. Just really simple line drawings.

Google Earth, screen grab? Add in additional info in any other desktop app?
