Am working out a circular route for tomorrow that takes in the Downs Link from Chilworth to Southwater. Aiming to do it on Big Apples instead of knobblies because there's another 35+ miles of road to take in. Haven't done the northenmost section above Cranleigh before so can anyone confirm what type of terrain is along that section of the DW? IIRC Marthas Hill is rocky/pebbly on the approach down.
Cheers

It's pretty decent from Cranleigh onwards. I see loads of folk on hybrids with skinny tyres. Can get muddy if it's been raining, but nothing serious. As you say, get's a bit looser as you head up to St. Martha's.
