How do you get a header or footer to appear only on the first page of a document. EG, my letterhead is a header whihc is fine for a one page letter but if it extends to 2 pages then I don't want the header to feature on the second page as it looks dumb. How do I fix this?

Excellent Ian. Who would have thought the solution to having a different first page header was to select "different first page" on header/footer options. It appears I really am a donut.

Nah, you're perfectly normal, well as far as I can tell 🙂 It's always just a right faff finding out where these options are.

In that case, here's another: How do I set the defaults so that when I open up word, the header/footer is already on Document1?

"font of all knowledge"

I can't find that one. I've got 'felix titling, forte, franklin gothic' etc but no 'font of all knowledge' 😉
