Jambalaya, you missed the point and the fact that several people were replaced or dismissed for not voting as instructed, the real numbers would be different. It wasn't a serious attempt to change the result but more a protest vote.

Of more serious concern is the very real and obvious conflicts of interest, the fact that any news on the handing over of business interests has not been forthcoming or that the plan to hand over control to his kids won't remove the conflict of interest part of the constitution.

The fact that he could be impeached pretty much instantly doesn't seem to be worrying him, no bigly.

I didn't miss that, state law in a number of places ensures that delegates cannot vote against the people. If they don't commit to vote in line with the people they are kicked out.

As much as some of this is funny, it's shit like this that costs lives some days

Donald Trump launched his Twitter campaign against China’s seizure of a U.S. Navy research submersible last week to great fanfare ? and, as it turns out, hours after the crisis had already been defused.

It’s unclear whether the president-elect or his aides knew that fact ? it would have been included in the intelligence briefing available to him each morning ? before he sent out his misspelled missive of outrage at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

“China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters ? rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented act,” Trump wrote. He deleted that version and replaced it with “unprecedented” spelled correctly at 8:57 a.m.

But even his first version came four hours after U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus was informed that the Chinese navy had agreed to return the “underwater unmanned vehicle.”

Too important to read the briefing, fire off a tweet, cause a diplomatic incident, wind up country getting pissed off with you.

Oh and can somebody pop round and fix the swamp pump it's getting bunged with conflicts of interest.

A new Texas nonprofit led by Donald Trump’s grown sons is offering access to the freshly-minted president during inauguration weekend — all in exchange for million-dollar donations to unnamed “conservation” charities, according to interviews and documents reviewed by the Center for Public Integrity.

And the donors’ identities may never be known.

Prospective million-dollar donors to the “Opening Day 2017” event — slated for Jan. 21, the day after inauguration, at Washington, D.C.’s Walter E. Washington Convention Center — receive a “private reception and photo opportunity for 16 guests with President Donald J. Trump,” a “multi-day hunting and/or fishing excursion for 4 guests with Donald Trump, Jr. and/or Eric Trump, and team,” as well as tickets to other events and “autographed guitars by an Opening Day 2017 performer.”

It's OK the son's have quit the board and deleted it now as they didn't really mean to auction off time and access to the highest bidder. (Yes I know that's how politics works but this was meant to be the shining light of change - so rich that he was incorruptible!)

It's alright, he already knew the content and the content of all future security briefings- they're all the Director saying the same things over and over, remember?

mentally unwell.

Odd, you would have to question whether you can trust the opinion of any psychiatrist who would risk being struck off for breaching fundamental ethical principles of his specialism in order to fulfil a request from a dodgy fake news site...

Yeah it's not a paradigm of virtue like breitbart, ninfan if you're arguing about dodgy ethics and fake news then I think you're supporting the wrong guy.

most Trump policies seem to be based in the world as it was in the 70's. Still I guess it's more recent than the tories trying to return us to the 19th Century.

I deplore the sabre rattling by Trump, however probably from Trumps perspective the Russians have been undertaking a massive upgrade of their nuclear forces over the past few years and are continuing to do so.

At best the Russians have shown contempt for arms control and their rhetoric is driving the world in to a far more dangerous place

yes so entering the arms race is certainly a great help

TBH more nukes is a stupid idea as [ oh please say its true] not even trump is as stupid as use them so they are really large phallic threatening sticks with which to bully and intimidate others hence the appeal to the tint handed angry man child - on both sides of the divide to be fair.

Yup I was just pointing out that it's an unreasonable response to unreasonable action by one unreasonable man, so far it's a threat in response to actual warmongering by Russia

Not clear yet what he's proposing. Strengthen and expand nuclear capability is what he said, not the arsenal, potential return of GLCM/SLCM as it's a highly effective mid range value for money solution? Alternatively he could be referring to confirmation/production of Trident successor (my suspicion of what he is referring to) which is due anyway

Trump's letters to Salmond. Enjoy!

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/dec/21/mad-alex-donald-trump-letters-abuse-ex-scottish-first-minister

Mind boggling isn't it? Classic 'green ink' letters written by a name-calling moron who somehow has gotten to a position of huge power.

What worries me most is not so much the danger this poses. It's more "how did we let this happen?"

Well it will probably be something either beneficial to his business or his major creditors or electoral backers.

As opposed to an underachieving economist who rose to a position of little power and even that he failed to excersize effectively 🙂

Mike you've been wrong about pretty much everything about Trump on this thread and that post will be no different.

His business he has made his money, not really a big consideration for him going forward. It's all about the power now
Creditors, Trump doesn't GAS. He can borrow from anyone and his loans are contractual there are no favours to be done.
Electoral backers, no influence and far less than Clinton or Obama who both spent way more and had favours to repay.

Jamby,
Favours

Construction of a Trump office building in Buenos Aires is being held up due to an issue with the granting of a permit. The subject of the granting of the permit was reportedly discussed during the President-elect's first phone call with his Argentinian leader Mauricio Macri.

A large development in the ex-Soviet nation of Georgia, which had been put on hold in 2013, was reopened soon after Trump's election. It has been suggested that the Georgian government, implicated as it is in the consequences of the US-Russian relationship, may have supported the project in order to influence Trump's foreign policy in the region.

Creditors
Trump has borrowed up to $2.5 billion from Deutsche Bank in the last 20 years. The US Department of Justice is currently negotiating a settlement of up to $14 billion with the bank as a penalty for its predatory lending practices in the lead-up to the global financial crisis.
The settlement will be overseen by the incoming attorney-general, whom Trump will personally appoint.

Trump is a part-owner of a building in Manhattan that carries a $950 million debt, some of which is owed to a large government-owned bank in China.

As for Electoral backers I was referring to the Russians.
His business he has made his money, not really a big consideration for him going forward. It's all about the power now

If that was the case then he would have managed to come up with a plan for his business that doesn't involve his family. He wouldn't have had his daughter in a meeting with the Japaneese PM as she was trying to sign a deal with a state owned business in Japan.

No loan of that size is fixed, anything up there can be up for negotiation, he only needs to wait 4 years for his pay off

Mike you've been wrong about pretty much everything about Trump on this thread and that post will be no different.

I got wrong that there were enough idiots sucked in by his lies.
Currently he is (trying to) filling his cabinet with the sort of elite he would have hammered Clinton for employing.
He has not fixed conflict of interest - it's not trivial and will lead to plenty of mud sticking.
He is a thin skinned, hot headed egotistical narcacist. (see the China Drone Sub part, by the time he had tweeted it was all sorted and if he had read his briefing he would have known that)
Anyway time will tell, you can obviously see no wrong with anything he is doing.

Nahh ... those are arguments about dictatorship is overrated. Not going to happen in Demon-cracy. Anyway, sometimes you need a dosh or two of dictatorship to set things right.

Does it matter? I am not bothered really. I am sure President-Elect Trump knows what he is doing unlike the previous administration. Now President-Elect may even have better insights into their working ... 😆

Regardless of who they aim at the bottom line is that they Must destroy the culture of political correctness, coz political correctness from within cos that is a disease that is spreading. A much more dangerous disease.

Therefore, no need to target afar coz the closest one at home is the most dangerous.

China, Russian, EU & the world cannot do anything about America so not a concern at all even if nuclear war is trigger. I triple dare them to start one.

Most of the danger of America presidency come from their own people i.e. their electorate. At the moment they all infected by the pc disease so they better clean up their own home first ...

Chewkw, the biggest danger to the American presidency is the president elect, his stupidity is only surpassed by his ignorance and that only by his arrogance. Think I asked this before but can anyone name one positive thing about him? Not a negative thing about someone else, a positive thing about him, and not one that's a lie or based on a lie.

Think I asked this before but can anyone name one positive thing about him?

He won the Presidency spending half the money ($500m) Clinton and Romney spent on losing ($1bn+ each) and half the money Obama spent winning in each of 2004 and 2008 ($1bn+) . He did so as he understands free publicity and he understands how the electoral college system works - both far better than the mkre experienced politicians
He won the Presidency with a decent chunk of the Republican establishment opposing him
He is very smart
He is very successful
He has raised very smart kids who are a credit to him
He has a can do attitude

In other news Obama is really plumbing the depths post Clinton losing the election. Instead of the usual quiet handover he has spent his time forcing through significant last minute legislation and initiatives which he did not have the courage to do before the vote knowing full well to do so would have been unpopular and vote losing for Democrats.

Trump will be in office in 3 weeks. He's going to be a success.

Once again, the left rely on calling people they disagree with stupid and dangerous because they can't win the political arguments.

"This right wing nutter will start a nuclear war"

A claim made by the democrats against every US presidential candidate since 1964

Tell me, how did the nuclear war that we were promised that Reagans sabre-rattling war-monger arms-race with Russia would inevitably lead us into work out?

Hmmm, well the CIA got involved in destabilizing Afghanistan after the Soviet Union tried to invade, and ended up training the Taliban and their friends in how to overthrow a superpower. Which kind of led to a number of very nasty events.

So not great.

Jambalaya - ever entertaining

Possibly true. He's hired some smart people to help him which is a good sign. Whereas our PM has surrounded herself with has-beens and also-rans.

He is very smart - according to what or who?
He is very successful - he inherited an eyewatering amount of money, that's not a criterion for success
He has raised very smart kids who are a credit to him - no, he spawed offspring who are using his wealth to make more
He has a can do attitude - except when it comes to paying taxes or bills

Not necessarily: he has employed people who have vested interests in oil and banking. Not necessarily a good thing, or what the country needs. However, it is a good thing for what Trump needs.
