$25 Million was less than the potential losses of the lawsuit which with the layers he can afford he should have won, assuming he wasn't in the wrong and going to lose no matter how good his lawyers were.

But he was a man of great intelligence, but he was also a man who did something that was a very vital thing to do at that time. Ten years before or 20 years before, what he was doing would never have even been thought possible. So he did something that was a very important thing to do, and especially at that time.
Lots of humble pie is going to be eaten by politicians critical of him during the election. Lefty Europeans will of course keep whining. He's going to light a fire under NATO and get member states to pay up. He's going to sort out the ineffectual talking shop at the UN too. Russia, yup normalise relations maybe even recognise Crimean Annexation. Most sanctions are from the EU anyway as US does so little business with Russia.
By the way that Trump/Farage photo has brought in £200,000 in press usage fees. All to be donated to Veteran's charities in UK and US I understand.
