Eagle is nearly 30 years beyond last manufactured airframe now.

It's still in production.

Its impossible to spin USA and Israel being the anything but the aggressor ..

Yet, despite USA having a complete loon leading them who has practically encouraged the USAs own SS-ICE troopers to murder US civilians .. soppy-Starmer says ..

In his speech, Sir Keir said he wanted to see "peace and security" in the Middle East and the "protection of civilian life".

He added: "Iran can end this now. They should refrain from further strikes, give up their weapons programme and cease the appalling violence and oppression of the Iranian people – who deserve the right to determine their own future."

I pulled the quote from the BBC, the Indy are reporting the same...

Oh I know the news is correct.  I meant Trump's voice sounded AI generated and with no discernible punctuation.

I am convinced Trump has done this to avoid pressure to testify on the Epstein case now the Clintons have given evidence.

He's been getting this ready as his next distraction and/or excuse to delay the mid terms for a while. The minute he started chuntering about Irans nuclear programme again the rest of NATO should have put him on the spot by pointing out that if he obliterated their programme last year he can't need to do it again, so which set of information he's given out was false?

Does Article 5 allow us to say "No" if the country invoking it started the war themselves?

Iran is the wrong side of Africa if you're talking about article 5 of the NATO treaty.

It's the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer, ie N.America and Europe (article 6)

It's only for self-defence in any case. That won't apply if you're the aggressor

Events over the last few days show just how stupid and hypocritical Dozy Don actually is. SNL put up a tweet from Drumph criticising Obama about starting wars, he’s been constantly talking about how many wars he’s stopped, how how much he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, and how he’s not making the mistakes of previous presidents starting wars in the Middle East, yet now he’s started a war against Iran, of very dubious legality, and is now tearing Starmer a new one because of his reluctance to allow aircraft to prosecute Drumphs war from British territory.

Christ, what an asshole! 😖

Dear lord, I’ve just watched the interview in the White House. There’s now so much gaudy gold tat in there it looks like an explosion in a Elizebeth Duke warehouse.

I doubt having Trump slagging him off will do Starmer much harm politically. Quite the opposite, given all but the Reform bellends in this country think Trump is a **** and are overwhelmingly opposed to getting involved in any more US Middle Eastern adventures

^^ I've totally changed my mind on Starmer trying to keep Trump on side for the good of the UK. He's dealing with a madman, it's impossible.

Absolutely no choice but to plough ahead reviving old bonds with the EU.

However, any new bonds we make with the EU will simply be torn up if Reform gain power.

What a mess.

You are right. But, its not just Epstein. Affordability is a major issue for him. Supreme court ruling on tariffs made him look weak and his new tariffs have time limits on them. ICE have had to stop their high profile activity. His polling numbers are through the floor. The ball room construction has stalled. Backing off Greenland made him look weak. He still hasn't stopped Ukraine war.

There is a massive list of Trump failures that a handy war distracts everyone from.

Or possibly that Trump is aware that Israel/Mossad know exactly what is in the redacted Epstein files and is doing as he's told

You don't even need to guess - it seems just before the US takes any kind of decisive action against bunch of new accounts pop up on polymarket and bet on Trump invading a given country at a given time and of course cash out to the tune of $millions. You don't even need to be in a Signal chat now.

Cant help thinking world cup is now a huge target for any number of ME groups if it ever gets as far as first game. Happy days eh?

The Clinton evidence was supposed to be closed session, until photos got leaked by one person to a right wing influencer.

I could see the Bondi session going one of two ways... Either they mak it public and she just shit-talks her responses to make sure that TACO knows she is loyal (and then, fingers crossed, she gets hit with contempt of Congress and locked up) or they do closed doors and she spills.

I doubt that she will spill. I doubt she will do anything other than the same garbage prevarication she's done till now, so I am actually hoping she gets hit with contempt.

Watching Noem be asked if she was having dirty relations with her underling and listening to all the reasons it was low and underhand and typical of leftist hand wringing was painful. Rather than just saying 'no'

It was a closed session and also intended to be televised - just not as a live broadcast. It was the Clintons condition for appearing that their depositions be made public, intending to set the president that all the depositions to the oversight committee are similarly made public

This is a good article explaining of Kristi Noem was fired.

The Department of Homeland Security tapped a little-known ad firm to produce Kristi Noem’s multimillion-dollar ad campaign during the government shutdown last year. But when asked to explain her rationale before a House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday, Noem was practically speechless.

Reading off a DHS notice, Colorado Representative Joe Neguse noted that the department had identified just four companies “out of the hundreds of thousands of companies in the United States” as potential hires for the campaign.

“One of those is this Safe America Media Company. Where is Safe America Media headquartered?” asked Colorado Representative Joe Neguse.

“I don’t know,” Noem replied.

DHS paid Safe America Media $143 million in no-bid contracts between February and August 2025 to produce a slate of anti-immigrant ads for ICE Barbie. Months later, ProPublica reported that it was unlikely Safe America Media, which was formed just eight days before it won the DHS contract, would have been able to handle a nine-figure government contract.

However, subcontractors are not required to be made public in federal contracting databases, effectively allowing the whopping taxpayer sum to vanish in an untraceable dark-money network. Exactly where and to whom Safe America Media dished out its millions is still unclear, though the consulting company behind one of Noem’s late 2025 videos spilled the beans.

The money from Noem’s agency was funneling directly into the pockets of her friends and allies at the Strategy Group, a group with myriad ties to the ex–South Dakota governor, including having once employed her alleged beau (Corey Lewandowski) and a CEO who is married to Noem’s ex-chief DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin.

Safe America Media, meanwhile, has no website, no experience, and quiet contracts. The only substantial evidence that the company actually exists at all is that it shares an address with a property owned by veteran Republican operative Michael McElwain.

“Is there a problem with this contract?” drawled the secretary.

You want the American people to believe that this is all above board, that $143 million of taxpayer money just happened to go to this one company that doesn’t have a headquarters, doesn’t have a website, has never done work for the federal government before, and is registered apparently or attached to a residence from a political operative, and of course one of the subcontractors of that contract, as you know, is a political firm that’s tied to, to you back when you were governor of South Dakota?” pressed Neguse. “The reason why I ask these questions is because this is taxpayer money.

“Eventually the facts will become public in this regard.”

Her problem was not the corruption but the fact that she said Trump was aware of this and had approved it.

So having ICE agents murder citizens and creating concentration camps was fine but getting caught funneling money and not protecting Trump was the thing that got her sacked.

I am delighted that the evil ghoul has been fired but would have wanted it to be for her evil treatment of citizens and immigrants rather than over getting caught with her hands in the till.

The ad campaign is the reason given - I very much doubt it's actually the reason. Nobody in the administration is going to genuinely care about that, least of all Trump.

Noems mistake was to say to congress , in relation to the shitshow in Minnesota, that she has been acting on the orders of Trump and Steven Millar. It's Millar that would have been pissed off about that - not that blame was being apportioned to him but that his name was being invoked at all. In reality Millar is the president.  For no real reason other than Trump can't be bothered to do the actual work of being president, he just likes being seen to be the president. Millar does the work, and largely does so unseen. He knows the biggest risk to him is to have the spotlight shift from Trump to him as the one action Trump happily takes as president is firing people - its very on brand - and he would give him the boot the moment he felt like he was sharing the spotlight.

Millar has proven to be  better than anyone at handling Trump. You can't tell Trump anything, you can't instruct him, or inform him, or advise him. But he can be charmed and Millar really has the knack charming Trump into acting as he wishes and he'll have given Trump the idea of giving Noem the boot and given him the reason why he wanted to do that

The US Customs and Border Protection has agreed a system to refund $166bn (+ $700mn interest per month) to US importers. This saves everyone the trouble of Court process, although there will be a six week delay while the system is implemented.
The delay is an improvement on President Trump's January declaration that it'll take "many years" to litigate the "complete mess".

"The declaration by Customs and Border Protection official Brandon Lord came just before government ‌lawyers met with a federal trade judge to try to hammer out a broad settlement process, as Reuters reported exclusively on Friday, for returning $166 billion in tariff payments to around 330,000 importers." https://www.reuters.com/business/us-customs-agency-says-tariff-refund-system-will-be-ready-45-days-2026-03-06/

The voters (both those that voted for trump and those that didn't) are no less shafted. The costs that were levied on importers will have been passed on to a greater or lesser extent to customers. Those importers will have their tariff bills refunded to them now it seems, but I can't picture a mechanism where those refunded tarrifs will find their way back to pockets of the customers who ultimately footed the bill for all this.

One of the first companies to file a case for having tarrifs refunded to them the was Fedex - they, of course, will have passed 100% of the tariff charges on to customers, and charged an admin fee on top. They made no mention in their suit of any intention of paying the money they are seeking from the government back to their customers.

The optics from Trump snd those around him this week are absolutely off-the-chart insane! I know we’ve become somewhat desensitised to it (Hypernormalisation and all that) but the image of him in the Oval Office surrounded by evangelical pastors is truly…. WTF?!!!

IMG_1924.jpeg

I know that he’s appealing to his base, but surely there’s an ever shrinking group of people who regard this as anything other than completely nuts!!

Then there’s the image from yesterday of the bodies of the 6 dead US servicemen being returned to the US and what is Trump wearing? Nothing says respect and quiet dignity more than a white baseball cap with USA emblasoned on the front of it in tacky gold letters. Did he think he was going to the ball game? 😳

Then there’s that completely psychotic ‘Justice US style’ video they released. This all looks like they’ve all now completely lost their already tenuous grip on reality

Then, like Badanoch, he’s showing everyone how out of touch with public opinion he is.

There is absolutely zero appetite for the UK to be dragged by America into another mindless Middle East adventure.

Maybe this will start to show a few more of the hard of thinking that these people are not on their side. There sons and daughters won’t be anywhere near a war zone. Well not unless they’re living in Dubai for tax purposes.

When somebody shows you who they really are, believe them!

Very little surprises me when doing my job. Alcohol, illicit substances, mental health issues .. and sometimes people just being people; I once watched a man sat in the dept nonchalantly completing a crossword puzzle as a group of fireman and medical staff attempted to cut a small ring spanner off his dangerously strangulated penis.

However, last week I was practically speechless when introduced to a newborn baby called Donald Trump. I have kicked myself since for not asking the seemingly proud parents from a west African country how/why they chose that name.

Iran say they’ve chosen their new leader - but not yet said who

Trump has said who ever they chose it has to be someone he approves of (bit tricky as the US has killed all their approved successors in the last week)

Isreal has said it doesn’t matter who Iran chooses - they’ll just kill them

seems like if Iran chooses Donald Trump as their new leader everyone’s a winner 🙂

According to the radio Farage has spent the weekend whispering into the Orange Monster's ear in Mar-a-Lago. Hope those who vote and back Reform will be happy to adopt American style health system. Something has to pay for defence.

Im sure the good people of clacton are delighted with the support their local mo provides

TBH I suppose they are lucky that they don’t have a reform council or Farage could have renamed it to Trumpton 🙂

The hat is his current official merch. Fox News in their coverage of the returning coffins swapped in footage of Trump from another event December, where he wasn't wearing a stupid hat,  seemingly to try and make him look less disgusting. Then in later broadcasts they just removed him from their coverage of the event entirely.

Wasn’t the whole point of the Islamic revolution to remove a hereditary monarchy?

That’s gone well then

He should sue for $10bn for fake news and misleading edits

Nope it was to get rid of one murderous arsehole. Unfortunately as is often the case in violent revolutions against a despotic regime  you end up with a paranoid, violent, work best with a small inner group, set of  people in charge of the new government. Since the nice people who use reason and discussion tend to end up dead early on.

The Shia tradition is based around the hereditary principle as well.

and to also rid the country of American inflluence.

stick 'in what ways was the the regime of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi influenced by the USA' into Google and have a quick read.

Shame Trump didn't do it 10 days ago, could've saved everyone a whole lot of bother.

'The perception of the Shah as an American "puppet" and the cultural, economic, and political shifts brought by Westernization contributed significantly to the 1979 revolution'

What did DOGE achieve?

"...“use-it-or-lose-it” funding rules force the Pentagon to forfeit its unused money and potentially see reduced funding next year.
Open the Books has tracked the annual September spending bonanza for nearly a decade. Military spending has spiked every year, regardless of which party controlled the White House.
However, there has never been anything quite like September 2025, when $93.4 billion was spent on grants and contracts. Since at least 2008 — and presumably in history — no federal agency has ever spent so much on grants and contracts in a single month."

"Military Munchies
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told the military in a speech on Sept. 30 that it is “completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon.”
Perhaps it was no coincidence that Hegseth took notice of his employees’ weight at the end of September. Military personnel spent the month dining in luxury.
The Pentagon spent $2 million on Alaskan king crab in September. It’s the fifth time the Pentagon under Donald Trump has spent $2 million or more on king crab in a single month: twice during his first term and three times in 2025. It’s only happened one other month in history (February 2021)." https://openthebooks.substack.com/p/pentagon-should-focus-on-defense
