He is now claiming to be treated ‘worse than Lincoln’.

Whilst sat at the Lincoln memorial. To the man who was assassinated.

He's going to rid the world of Aids too. Nobody did anything before he arrived according to him.

Watched the Town Hall earlier. Just the usual China/WHO/king of ventilators/more tests than the rest of the world/Biden/China ban/hydroxychloroquine repeated endlessly. He ignored all the questions the public put forward.

Someone said she'd not got her stimulus money yet or unemployment and his answer was to get the country back to work, and she'd prob get another job that paid better.

Another asked why his operating costs had gone up by $60k/month due to the tariffs on Chinese goods, and he went off on the 'China never paid a penny for years' rant and now they're paying over $500M. And it's OK, 'cos he's given some of the money from the tariffs to farmers.

and once he is no longer president he is going to be prosecuted

Once he's out of office he'll go back to being on TV, living in the tower with his name on, tweeting and cheating at golf. He won't be prosecuted for anything he's said or done. If by 1948 the world was bored of trying to prosecute and try Nazis for goodness sake, they won't be bothered with this moron.

Yup.

Trump isn't going to be prosecuted. To whose advantage would it be?

Impeachment was tried and it failed. If he's out of the picture there will be no appetite from the public to have him hung drawn and quartered. If rhe Democrats pursue this line they'll be rejected by the electorate.

Im sure peolple will issue lawsuits against him, it is America after all, they'll mostly be kicked into the long grass by his lawyers, nothing to Frighten Trump there.

nick - there are multiple AGs lining up to prosecute; to repeat, his only way out is to get a second term and even that doesn't remove the risk.
For example, he continues to be in breach of the emoluments clause.
In addition, he is terrified that when he no longer has presidential 'protection' the true scale of his 'wealth' will be revealed as will the funding sources for various trump projects; a narcissist, driven by vanity and ego.
Having claimed he's sooo wealthy and then be exposed would be.....delightful.
A slow and humiliating denouement would be perfect - or to use his own words....'so beautiful'.

Looks like he is closing down the Coronavirus task force he set up, just as their deaths and infections are really ramping up.
Looks like it will be left to some pre-existing federal agencies who will advise the states what to do? So no federal actions?
Makes sense from his point of view - he can say all the deaths aren't anything to do with him as he's not working on the issue. Blame goes to the states.

Think he might be a bit naive to think he can distance himself from this, just saying it's nothing to do with me isn't going to work. His crazy supporters will swallow it up but plenty of people are going to see the deaths and the government doing nothing and turn against him.

I see Trump is playing his standard "Who? Never met the guy? But I hear bad things" card for Dr Rick Bright, who had until April led the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) and made a whistleblower complaint that Trump and the Whitehouse ignored the warnings about Covid.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-latest-coronavirus-whistleblower-rick-bright-a9502841.html

Meanwhile I'm also seeing a big increase in smearing of Dr Fauci online from right-wingers, who are claiming he is dishonest and just in it for the money etc.

This ignorant, uneducated one eyed view - read the interview with the US lady - is exactly why the orange idiot will be re-elected:

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-why-rush-to-ease-lockdown-could-be-catastrophic-for-us-and-trump-11984256

Oh how we joked about the generic and grandiose self important US view of mostly knowing sod all about the little islands outside of America before COVID19, but that same attitude is hitting the world hard now.

That Sky interview reveals what his base will think, when the economy reopens (notice nowadays nobody talks about a society, we are all economies) he will be seen as a saviour because he has been pushing for it.

Saving lives is much less important than the dollar.

I'm all out of words to describe this oxygen thief.

How long have they been in power and he still blame Obmama for 'the cupboards being empty'?

He just makes one thing up after another. We are making millions of masks and soon our stocks will be so high we will be saving other countries by sending some to them. I wonder if they have VOTE TRUMP printed on them?

When that nurse said "Its OK, we've all tested negative, we wouldn't want to give anything to our President" am I the only one who hoped she had her fingers firmly crossed?

Good example of the smear and conspiracy tactics now being used by the right against Dr Fauci for daring to contradict Trump:

https://vm.tiktok.com/ctTw6Y/

Meanwhile Trump prevented Fauci from testifying to the House of Representatives because “The house is a setup. The House is a bunch of Trump haters. They put every Trump hater on the committee”.

So yay for scrutiny I guess 🤷‍♂️

Intrigued by the notion that a virus can be ‘taught’ 🙂 I mean you can train dolphins right?

but I guess the first step of creating a conspiracy theory is to create a filter through which only the credulous can pass.

“One of Trump's personal valets tests positive for coronavirus - report

One of Trump’s personal valets has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a report from CNN.

A spokesperson for the president confirmed in a statement that a member of the US military who works at the White House had received a positive test result. According to CNN, the valet is a member of the US Navy.

“We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for Coronavirus,” deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley said in the statement.

“The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus and they remain in great health.”

According to CNN, the valet started exhibiting symptoms Wednesday morning, and the president was subsequently tested again once the valet’s result came back positive.“

Trump won't be worried, remember that official doctors report that said he was the fittest president there'd ever been?

Either that, or my President Pence prediction will come true sooner than expected.

The last Kayleigh McEnany press briefing was a shocker. She completely dismissed testing the population. Nobody working on contact trace and test over there then?

'Q Kayleigh, we were just talking about masks. You said, at Honeywell, that the President was told by the folks at Honeywell, as was the team, that they didn’t need to wear masks. The reason he was told that was the people who would be interacting with him had all been tested and had been shown to be negative before that took place, I guess. So the President had those circumstances. Obviously, he’s the President. But why shouldn’t all Americans who go back to work be able to get a test before they do to feel comfortable in their own work environment to be interacting with other individuals?

MS. MCENANY: Yeah, well, let’s dismiss a myth about tests right now. If we tested every single American in this country at this moment, we’d have to retest them an hour later, and then an hour later after that. Because at any moment, you could theoretically contract this virus. So the notion that everyone needs to be tested is just simply nonsensical.'

And her parting shot was this...

'Q Kayleigh, in a previous life, before you were Press Secretary, you worked for the campaign. And you made a comment, I believe, on Fox, in which you said, “President Trump will not allow the coronavirus to come to this country.” Given what has happened since then, obviously, would you like to take that back?

MS. MCENANY: Well, first, let me note I was asked a question on Fox Business about the President’s travel restrictions. I noted what was the intent behind those travel restrictions, which is: We will not see the coronavirus come here. We will not see terrorism come here — referring to an earlier set of travel restrictions.

I guess I would turn the question back on the media, and ask similar questions: Does Vox want to take back that they proclaimed that the coronavirus would not be a deadly pandemic? Does the Washington Post want to take back that they told Americans to “Get a Grippe,” the flu is bigger than the coronavirus? Does the Washington Post, likewise, want to take back that our brains are causing us to exaggerate the threat of the coronavirus? Does the New York Times want to take back that fear of the virus maybe spre- — spreading faster than the virus itself? Does NPR want to take back that the flu was a much bigger threat than the coronavirus? And finally, once again, the Washington Post — would they like to take back that the government should not respond aggressively to the coronavirus?

I’ll leave you with those questions and maybe you’ll have some answers in a few days.'

She's happily ignoring the fact that the media in question were just reporting stupid things that the administration was saying every night.

Besides, just coz other people got things wrong, it doesn't make her any less wrong.

Nasty Piece of work.

And that is where the democrats and their supporters are ****ing up, they are so obsessed with being anti Trump and the current administration, they are forgetting to listen to the reasons so many people were willing to risk voting for Trump. They are failing to offer any real alternative, just back to the old ways.

33 million unemployed over the past couple of months, losing their job based health care, through no fault of their owm. And the democrats leadership instead of making sure they have healthcare when they most need it, are urging Trump to open the insurance companies so they can be sold healthcare FFS.

I’ll go on record now saying that I like to think of myself as a fairly decent and caring human being. I don’t wish ill on anyone, yet I hope the odious waste of oxygen catches the virus and dies of it. He’s a vile waste of space and his childish, pathetic attitude has contributed towards the needless deaths of thousands of people.

Trump got in by promising people who thought they had been left behind that he would bring back the good times. Last year I cycled from Maine to Key West, went through so many small towns that had just shut down, old people living in huge houses. Kids had moved to the nearest city for work, leaving not much left. Spoke to loads of people and the subject of Trump would come up, not one person liked him but they were Republicans and supported the GoP.

Of course he hasn’t brought the good times back, it depends on whether they have woken up to him.

But the problem is, his opposition also haven't woken up to the reality of those peoples lives, until they can offer something different to the politics of indifference that has dragged down those towns, then they could still gamble on Trump. It's collective self harm, a cry for help, but no one is listening so they will do it again.

That sounds good on paper/screen but i fear the usa has gone past the point of no return for a vast swathe of the underclass that is due to unfettered rampant capitalism and a fear of socialism/welfare state/healthcare for all

This is what the US is about now, armed black individuals escorting their state representative to her office after armed white right-wingers staged a protest inside the building.

Yes, this is what America has become. I thought it was an important moment. The RW militias have been strutting around like the KKK since Trumps been in office and the perception is that they have the tacit support of the police. Remember these groups turning up to the Ferguson protests? The militias seem to see themselves as a twisted American version of a PCSO.

It reminds me of Condoleezza Rice saying she opposed gun control as she remembered her father and other neighbours standing on the porch with their shotguns at the ready as the good ole boys rolled by in their pickups looking to do some lynching.

It always confuses me how so many people can be so vehemently against something that would benefit them. Sensible gun laws, nope, health system so people don't die purely because they're poor, nope. The rich I almost understand as often they just want to protect their wealth and don't need to worry about medical costs and shootings in public schools, but the vast swathes of poor people who would benefit from such things....don't get it.
