I don't get this, was Trump riding shotgun in the Limo, seems a strange scenario. Obviously I expect him to throw a tantrum and try to verbally force the driver to do what he is told rather than what he should, but I can't help think that some "figurative" storytelling is being taken out of context somewhere along the line. And we have to be careful that the bulshit from allsides isn't examined otherwise that is where the cracks will appear that allow Trump to get away with it.

Judging by the pictures that day, Trump wasn't in the 'Beast'(limo) but a Secret Service SUV, similar to when he was being driven around during Covid. You could easily see how he could have gone for the wheel of an SUV, just sitting in the back.

theres not really anything accidental about the fruit-battery of the Primary debate. Primaries are elections to elect the candidates who'll run for election. America's system of electoral checks and balances means theres just too much democracy, too many occasions when voters are asked to vote, too many things to vote on (which is why the queues at polling stations are so long) and you get a high degree of voter fatigue. So in a primary turnout is very low because it doesn't seem very important and the only people who can be bothered to vote are the people who are most highly motivated by weird and wacky causes and you can unseat a sitting candidate by motivating enough weirdos to vote that they don't make it onto the ballot paper. So the candidates with the weirdest or most extreme views tend to get selected to run. Come the actual election the only candidate to vote for, if you're a republican voter, is some nut job or someone soulless enough to play the roll of a nutjob. So thats what whole clown show is for - Trumpist republicans attempting to get the traitorous Liz Chenny off the ballot paper so moderate republicans can't vote of her and so she can't be re-elected.
The Republican Party do this at every level of democratic process from school boards to the Whitehouse they're more interested in strategies to win than with doing anything with that victory other than gum up the works - they stack the school boards, local government, local legal systems, even the Whitehouse, with stubborn idiots so that efforts to govern by anyone else, at any other level are defeated.
Thing is that candidates who lose a primary can still run as an independent. There's zero chance of a Democrat winning Cheney's seat so she should be able to run as an independent and pick up moderate Republican voters and Democrats, assuming that the Democratic Party endorses her.

In politics, you often just have to vote for the least-worst option. Cheney is a hardcore conservative but she's not a loony supporter of insurrections. Democrats are not going to win in Wyoming but having Cheney win is much better for them than having a MAGA nutjob win.

Its odd the FBI have waited so long - it was reported back in February that Trump had squirrelled away Whitehouse paperwork, so theres been ample time for him to just move or destroy anything he wants to hide (and hiding it is obviously the reason for taking it from the Whitehouse in the first place).
I dont really expect he's hiding evidence of some grand conspiracy or collected bundles of state secrets to pass to Putin - the reality is probably more that he's embarrassed by his record. Trump would get angry at any Whitehouse staff who wrote notes during meetings - the records of the day to day machinations of the Whitehouse will reveal his ineptitude and the efforts of those around him to coddle and mollify him. I made that mistake the first time, so did a lot of other people. I assumed that the Republican party had a lot of serious voters who cared about policy and would not vote for Trump given how transparently dishonest he was.
Trump being disqualified from running again would be much better than having him run.
Polling has shown that support for Trump among Republican voters is ebbing away. The striking down of Roe vs Wade also appears to be galvanising the electorate. I agree that him being ruled out of the presidency would be a nice, warm, feeling, but there are some truly awful creatures - perhaps worse than him - waiting in the wings to be the new, acceptable face of the GOP.

This is the crux. Biden can't go again. He is/was the calming voice needed to end the Trump madness but the next candidate needs to be a proactive woman/man for the future. A very careful balancing act needs to be played out where they are not tarred with any Biden fallout, yet need to be proactive,visible and credible and look like a president in waiting with the relevant level of experience. Also, like the parallels of what is going on here right now - not too many chunks need to be taken out of them in the inhouse battle.
