I've got a close mate who's a senior copper and he's gone the other way, I think the damage Theresa May has inflicted on the police service has driven him into the arms of Corbyn! (It's also coat him his marriage and plenty of grey hairs)
I think its as someone said
<Waves> ‘‘Twas I.
makes for a black view and scumbag intolerance
Worse than that, they can start to think that scumbags are disproportionately common. Especially in the geographical areas that they frequent. Often as a result being guilty of tarring whole areas/races/social classes with the same broad brush, and it’s not right, or defensible. Eh, Deviant?
He’s managing some quite long words tonight. Maybe he really is bigly a genius?
Er . . . no.
I am likely to get banned if I use the words that are in mind about him now.
Just unbelievable
The bloated orange tugnugget must really want his very own war, i doubt sensible discussion with the european backers of the deal will make a difference over the next 30 days as Netanyahu is stroking trumps dick under the table
When you’re looking for calm, objective and rational analysis of Iran, surely your first port of call would be Netanyahu.
It’d be perfectly ok to ignore what everyone else has to say on the subject, and just take what he says at face value
it certainly looks like that’s what’s happened.
oh well....

it certainly looks like that’s what’s happened.
probably in conjunction with huge wedge of cash under the table from the house of saud
Unpick everything Obama did, undo anything good, destablaise as that is where you make money...
The sooner he becomes unpalatable to the Republicans the better
Nothing to see here, move along...

So what would you do to stop your wife thinking you were shagging a porn star?
I'm now wondering why Alaska looks like a flaccid penis pointing at the Aussies.
Can someone explain to me any senario, no matter how wild, where Iran could use a nuclear weapon against another state (any state) and still be in existance a week later? MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) is still just as valid today as it was during the heyday of the Cold War. (which never actually became a war precisely because of MAD!)
Owning a Nuclear weapon only grants you a seat at the big boys discussion table, that's all (see N/Korea for reference.....)
it's trying to keep the genie in the bottle, if Iran has them, Turkey and the Saudis will want them and the Israelis will want more just to make sure.... if Turkey and the Sauds have them Egypt will want to join the club and Israel gets very nervous indeed. Then we have to keep track of who's got what where and whether it's safe or not.
Rouhani: I have ordered Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran to be ready to start the enrichment of uranium at industrial levels. We will wait a few weeks and speak with our allies and those committed to JCPOA. All depends on our national interests.
Well who would have thought it would go this way?
it gets stranger by the minute, EU saying they are going to stand by the agreement and the US threatening anyone who deals with Iran....
I imagine that Israel will be moving on Hezbollah in Syria & Lebanon in days, wonder what the Russians will make of it?
At least Kim now knows that Trump could year up any nuclear deal on a whim
Also makes Johnsons fox & friends plea look, even more desperate
Without wishing to draw attention to specifics, some of the posts on this thread over the weekend have been downright depressing.
Im still trying to get my head around what is going on with America’s foreign, economic and environmental policy. To blame a buffoonish president is too simplistic, nothing happens by accident.
Since John Bolton took office, foreign policy has become more hawkish than at anytime I can recall.

No but it happens by direction, if he isn't in charge then somebody is pulling the strings to make things unstable. Sooner it ends the better for the world.
John Bolton has been there 6 weeks....
Im still trying to get my head around what is going on with America’s foreign, economic and environmental policy
In an interview with Fox news (who else) when asked why he hadn't appointed very key state dept posts (there's still no South Korean Ambassador) Trump said that when it comes to foreign policy, "I'm the only one that matters"
Mcmaster often complained (former head of NSC) that while there was on the face of it, "a process" regarding decision making, it appeared that there were two parallel tracks, the inter agency process and the decisions Trumps makes, it was often not clear Trump was making decision with reference to that process.
You go through the list of appointments; Bolton, DeVoss, Pruitt et al and it’s clear that this administration is quite extraordinary in the context of Republican governments that have gone before. We get mired in debates about Trump’s nocturnal tweets, it’s clear that the Republican Party itself is at the mercy of fringe politics.
Whether its donors pulling the strings or whether the Tea Party movement has exerted influence beyond its grassroots membership is open to debate.

Neither have control over Trump....
Good listens from the US

Thing is PMJ1974 the "never Trump" elements of the republican party will never work in the administration, the left are repulseR by the foreign policy decisions, and even the Bannonite Far right disdain them for being insufficiently extreme, which leaves republican hawkish nut bars unpalatable to everyone. The only saving grace is that while Trump demands loyalty, he rarely rewards it, so at least Bolton will be out of a job soon.
Trump really is one load his mother should of swallowed
Firm Tied to Russian Oligarch Made Payments to Michael Cohen https://nyti.ms/2KODExU
Just follow the money....
Yep but no collusion...
It's pretty damming wouldnt like to explain myself out of that one.
One payment maybe but theres a few more to answer for , telephone bill refund maybe 🙂
Now if Trump had just paid up out of his own money we wouldn't be looking at this.
He's a total tightwad....
Don't forget truth doesn't matter to his base thou..
Did he really use a magic marker to sign that declaration??
It’s pretty damming wouldnt like to explain myself out of that one.

I know Im in danger of sounding like a breitbart evil jewish soros conspiracy nutter, it does seem that Netanyahu has figured out how to play Trump better than anyone else!
Either that or Trumps weird Obama inferiority complex really is driving everything he does
Trump has an answer to negative news reports about him, ie ‘fake news’; take away the credentials of any news network responsible, making it impossible for their reporters to travel as part of his entourage!
Honestly, he’s no different to Putin, both are autocratic with exceedingly thin skins.
And now Iran has attacked Israel from Syria
This is going to escalate
Welll Iran atacked Isreal according to Isreal, looks like just another excuse for Isreal to strike at Iran while the iron is hot, under the pretense of retaliation..
but hey ho, death is just the symptom of the petulant orange bafoons desperate need for attention.
To be pedantic the Golan Heights is recognised as Israeli occupied Syrian land taken from Syria
Not really interested in the collusion, I think thats a side issue, I'm interested in the fact these people seem to have money thrown at them in massive wads.
Must be good to be them and I'd like to join the club 🙂
Meanwhile Trump is basking in the glory of participating in a carefully planned PR/negotiating exercise by the North Koreans. I wonder at what point he'll realise he is being played to perfection.
Will they really give up their nukes after watching what happened to Gaddafi and now Iran?
The decision on Iran has so many interesting parallels with the Bush decision to walk away from the North Korea nuclear deal, which led to the situation we're in now - the same issue a decade or more later, only with a much more developed nuclear capacity, forcing the US back to the negotiating table.
Good to hear that the Saudis are now talking about getting their own nuclear capability. 🙁
But Johnson said Trump deserved a Nobel peace prize !!!!
You can't fault Johnson there - he was following the standard protocol for communicating with Trump.
1) Go on Fox and Friends
2) Say something over-flattering about how great Trump is.
3) Slip in the actual valid point that you want Trump to embrace, hoping that John Bolton doesn't get to him before he tweets his agreement from the toilet.
Don't understand why it didn't work on this occasion.
Perhaps Boris should've gone to the toilet with him ?
So Trump is taking all the credit for appearing to resolve the NK situation.
Here's a thought...
Let's suppose you find yourself inheriting a failing dynastic dictatorship that can't even feed it's own people and is kept going by forced labour, political repression and a trickle of help from your powerful ally to the north and you are not a stupid person.
Let's also suppose that you've decided the best way out of your dilemma is to get your hands on all that lovely American cash.
Thinking strategically, what would be the best way of going about playing your fish?
Listen to the cringeworthy hostage return, Kim was very nice to them, he has been great...
NK have wanted this meeting, now with very little given up they have it.
As if China are going to let US firms exploit NK ressources. The chinese are playing with Trump.
A 14-year-old boy was among those killed on Monday and more than 900 people were injured, the Hamas-run health ministry said.
Palestinians hurled stones while the Israeli military used snipers as black smoke poured from burning tyres.
Israel's army said 10,000 "violent rioters" had gathered along the security fence and that its troops were operating "in accordance with standard procedures".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-44104599
Another success for Trump.
"Today is the big day when we will cross the fence and tell Israel and the world we will not accept being occupied forever," a science teacher in Gaza, Ali, told Reuters news agency.
Israel says the protests are aimed at breaching the border, which it heavily guards, and attacking Israeli communities nearby.
I wonder how the world would have reacted if the Palestinians had taken this approach when Israel came over the border.
(and yes we know loads of US presidents crossed their fingers and said one day, one day we will about moving the embassy but none of them really though if doing it)
Following the deaths of over 50 Palestinians today it would appear Mr Trump has a lot of blood on his hands, whilst his family takes tea and cake at the Embassy.
Can you imagine the news if that was happening to British people? It's unbelievable.
Just what does this man have to do before the whole world say no more. The middle east is on a knife edge, and this idiot just keeps prodding it. The good folk in the USA have a lot to answer for in not getting rid of this fool.
I wonder how the world would have reacted if the Palestinians had taken this approach when Israel came over the border.
Go on then, remind us, exactly when did Israel “come over the border”?
Ah ninfan the pedant is back... Well one time would be when they built houses in the occupied territory I'm sure you agree though shooting over 50 people dead is terrible.
Well one time would be when they built houses in the occupied territory
And how did it end up “occupied”?
Nothing to do with the little matter of an out military invasion by neighbouring Arab countries? You know, invasion, “coming over the border” as it’s sometimes called, but with tanks and bombs.
Tell me, just what did happen to the Jewish quarter of Jerusalem when the Arabs “came across the border”? I’m sure you would agree that a few thousand dead Jews is terrible, of course...
Dead people are terrible, their religion does not make them more or less important , in a part of the world where sides are digging in deeper and refusing to compromise rewarding one side is irresponsible. Continuing with a photo op after this bloodshed is disgusting.
rewarding one side
only one side is sworn to the complete destruction of the other.
As he trots out the lines like a little trump to justify murder. Its all a bit sad really
justify murder.
“Resistance and jihad for the liberation of Palestine will remain a legitimate right, a duty and an honour for all the sons and daughters of our people and our Ummah.”
”Resisting the occupation with all means and methods is a legitimate right guaranteed by divine laws and by international norms and laws. At the heart of these lies armed resistance, which is regarded as the strategic choice for protecting the principles and the rights of the Palestinian people.”
So it's allowed to shoot people because they come from a country?
So it’s allowed to shoot people because they come from a country?
Palestine isn’t a country
it would have been, if they hadn’t rejected the two state solution proposed by the United Nations,, repeatedly, and turned to violence instead.
So it's OK to shoot 50 people dead?
So it’s OK to shoot 50 people dead?
Depends what they were doing
Depends what they were doing
Very much so. Like when people are reportedly chasing a car into a group of protestors.
Or a rough translation what their religion/skin colour/place of birth was.
Funny, didn’t appear to be many Israelis out on the streets calling Trump a Nazi today, did there Darcy? I mean, you would have though that if anyone didn’t like Nazi’s...
I mean, you would have though that if anyone didn’t like Nazi’s…
If a horse was that lame... They are out celebrating wrapping him around thrir little finger. Bet he read all those empty files about Iran... But seriously do you even try these days?
They are out celebrating wrapping him around thrir little finger.
just another pawn in the international Jewish conspiracy...

Oh wow... Do you have these on a word doc?
I mean, you would have though that if anyone didn’t like Nazi’s…
Yes, of course labbie.
Yeah shooting a guy in a wheelchair who had a slingshot seems justifiable.
The orange **** told us that Jared Kushner was going to bring peace to the Middle East
He was there a whole afternoon & 50 people were killed & 2000 wounded
(Obviously in a completely proprtionate response to transgressions on their completely legally seized land.)
The nobel peace prize committee must be getting ready with their certificate
Yep the forwarded thinking diplomat is not in the white house
So it’s OK to shoot 50 people dead?
Depends what they were doing
Well, they weren’t shooting unarmed people, some may have been chucking stones and using slingshots, and of course, using live fire and snipers is always a reasonable and proportional response, is it not?
And that, Ninny, is what’s known as a rhetorical question, by the way.
Palestine isn’t a country
I know - compared to the artificially-created nation Israel that has a full 60 years in the history books, the state of Palestine that was mentioned a thousand years before the birth of Christ should really stop whining about it, shouldn't it.
This guy was definitely a threat- armed to the teeth and just about to vault the fence so you can definitely see why he was targeted and shot dead by a sniper

And this guy could have gassed a member of the IDF by knocking one of their own tear gas cans right down the mid court, that's totally unacceptable

Proving it's not that complicated
Rabbi Latz @RavMABAY
I am a rabbi. I love Israel. I condemn without reservation the bloodshed in Gaza. Not so hard. You can challenge the Israeli government’s policies without being anti-Semitic.
And equally; I'm no lover of the Israeli government but when Hamas was posting this message of peace it's not easy to call them blameless for the escalation either.....
Still, difficult to see the opening of an Embassy in Jerusalem on a day that the occupied territories consider to be somewhat disputed as a calculated peace move.
No solutions, just despair at the human condition.
Just come across this piece on the GOP, Nixon, and his collusion with South Vietnam.
But one thing’s for sure: If Trump does take some kind of outrageous action against Mueller, the Republican Party will mumble, look down at its shoes, and then do nothing whatsoever. Earlier this year there was momentum among a small number of GOP lawmakers to join with Democrats to pass legislation protecting Mueller, but that’s quietly petered out. There may be some opposition from some Republicans, but the odds of it being enough to stop Trump are quite low.
If this occurs it should come as no surprise to anyone. It’s simply the logical endpoint of decades of effort by the Republican Party and its media penumbra to shield the GOP from the rule of law or any small-D democratic norms. Today’s GOP sees any and all rules just as billionaire New York real estate developer Leona Helmsley saw taxes – they’re only for “the little people.”
There’s always been a significant faction of the U.S. right, rooted mostly in large corporations, that’s similar to the right in Latin America, in that it genuinely sees democracy as illegitimate. The success of Franklin D. Roosevelt during the 1930s was a gigantic shock to their system, and there were two small scale efforts by Wall Street and big business to overthrow Roosevelt via military coup. Meanwhile, John Foster Dulles, a powerful corporate lawyer who later became secretary of state during the Eisenhower administration, told his clients facing new government restrictions: “Do not comply. Resist the law with all your might, and soon everything will be all right.”

And next up Kim starts to mess them all around... How does it look if he gets stood up?
Well the NK-US summit was either never going to actually happen or not amount to anything, all NK wants out of it is a bit of international sympathy and maybe a relaxing of sanctions. Kim isn't stupid enough to think he'd still have the same power in a united Korea (at best he'd hope for immunity). I doubt even SK wants a united Korea except in principal - OK East and West Germany managed to merge fairly successfully but NK & SK is a whole different ball game.
Yep unification would be messy, problem state side is the US thought it had all the cards here, if you say it was your skill that got you there then being stood up looks really bad. Kim is running the show in this
Just come across this piece on the GOP, Nixon, and his collusion with South Vietnam
The recent Ken Burns documentary on the Vietnam war is well worth a watch if you haven't seen it, it's a bit of an eye opener on US foreign policy and what a mess they made of it.
Is that the PBS one narrated by Peter Coyote?
Was Amazing, especially when you see the same mistakes being tepearep today.
Heads up the American version is showing on PBS Freeview channel in UK & each episode is much longer than one the BBC showed
As for N Korea
Little Rocket Man has Trump dancing to his tune*, he's figured out how to play to trump's ego better than Bojo
* Awaits limp attempt to portray comment as being anit-korean or some such ninsense
”Resisting the occupation with all means and methods is a legitimate right guaranteed by divine laws..."
"This land was promised to the Jewish people by god. .."
Aye. There's the rub.
Little Rocket Man has Trump dancing to his tune*, he’s figured out how to play to trump’s ego better than Bojo
But, but...Trump needs his Nobel Peace Prize. Sorting out the the Palestinian/Iran problem so capably might not be enough by itself.
