Critically apply the benefit of the doubt Ninfan and apply Heinlein's Razor "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity, but don't rule out malice."
Conway is on record as describing untruths as “alternative facts”
She is on record saying the same wrong thing three times “Bowling Green Massacre”
On two occasions she supplements the wrong thing with a second wrong thing US troops were killed in the Bowling Green Massacre .
She adds in another wrong thing that Bowling Green was not reported.
Her after the event correction was that she misspoke and said massacre instead of Terrorist is implausible “ islamist terrorists were behind the bowling green terrorist” is a tautology at best and nonsense at worst from a trained media presenter?
Her mistake is part of a presentation of another untrue fact for political gain” Obama had an Iraqi immigration ban “, he didn’t he had a moratorium on new visas immigration from Iraq continued during the period.
So I would suggest that the full picture cannot be explained by stupidity and not only can malice not be ruled out, only someone choosing to gaze through rose tinted glasses could be unsure of the deliberate nature of the lies.

You're clearly right Crankboy

It's all a masterpiece conspiracy of disinformation to weaken the value of truth as a concept, and they would have probably gotten away with it if it wasn't for the pesky sleuths on the Internet who figured it all out.

(Where would we be without them I wonder? Probably still blindly believing in nonsense like moon landings and that jet fuel could melt steel....)

Thanks Ninfan i know i am , there is a suggestion that this is all part of the wider strategy which started with Spicer tell lies all the time little and big divide the population 1/3 commited loyalists will believe you regardless of facts because it is you 1/3 hated you any way and dont trust you the middle ground will hear the first two arguing and decide they can't be certain about the Truth and give you the benefit of the doubt because you represent the "PRESIDENT"
it scarcely amounts to sleuthing to listen to what Conway says and apply logic and your favourite Razor, to her actual words.

Somebody posted this on Facebook.

Very interesting bit about the Republicans.

1. Don't use his name;
2. Remember this is a regime and he's not acting alone;
3. Do not argue with those who support him--it doesn't work;
4. Focus on his policies, not his orange-ness and mental state;
5. Keep your message positive; they want the country to be angry and fearful because this is the soil from which their darkest policies will grow;
6. No more helpless/hopeless talk;
7. Support artists and the arts;
8. Be careful not to spread fake news. Check it;
9. Take care of yourselves; and
10. Resist!
Keep demonstrations peaceful.
When you post or talk about him, don't assign his actions to him, assign them to "The Republican Administration," or "The Republicans." This will have several effects: the Republican legislators will either have to take responsibility for their association with him or stand up for what some of them don't like; he will not get the focus of attention he craves; Republican representatives will become very concerned about their re-elections.

Just think about this. The official Twitter account of the president of the United States of America, is retweeting himself moaning about Nordstrom not selling his daughter's merch anymore.

What a time to be alive!

Jesus. I was certain you'd misread a spoof tweet, but a quick check and you're right, it's real.

Couldn't make it up.

I had some brexit/trump/DM types around for a meal at the weekend.

They were outwardly normal human beings but after a few drinks revealed themselves to astoundingly ignorant and unpleasant.

They knew it though and were quite content, they have all they need and **** everyone else.

In other news, Betsy DeVos? could have taken a shit on the floor in the confirmation hearings, and still got the nod.

Yes pretty much that, but they weren't family so when conversation turned to cyclist should pay tax, wear hi viz, not ride two abreast and not not moan about getting killed etc I could hoof them out, so I did.

but they weren't family

Ugh.... I am visiting my sister and her husband this weekend - they are brexitists and trumpists 😥

Last time we visited, my wife told my brother-in-law he was a "daily mail reading bigot"..... so I'm quite looking forward to this trip.

Yep, it does, about your browsing history prior to the targeted advertising appearing 😉

I get those adverts, generally only if I've had a read of the Army Rumours forum.

Who knows where they've been browsing the web!

Have you ever wondered why there is no living saint as the head of state? Yeea ... we would begging on the street for food.

Politicians are no saints and ALL of them will take advantage of their positions. Fact.

The question is which one of them will take advantage of their position yet give you a good life. i.e. leave something for you. The clever ones will leave something for you, while dumber ones will consume the lot for themselves while you rot.

His greatest selling point for some was he was too rich to need to abuse his position. He currently has his senior advisor telling everyone to buy his daughters clothes - In the history of being presifent it's about as bad as it gets on that one. His wife has calculated the amount she expects to make from being first lady.

While in government the key part is you do what is right for the country, you work for the country and not for yourself. It leaves you wide open to claims of self interest and allows people to question every single thing you do. We don't all aspire to live in the corrupt world, sometimes we set standards higher and expect people to follow them - especially those who made such a big deal of "Draining the swamp"

The laws need to be tested because if the laws do not protected the majority then they are not fit for purpose.

"Go buy Ivanka's stuff … I'm going to go get some myself today," Ms Conway told Fox News in an interview from the White House.

I'm lovin' it !

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that a Trump presidency would be so crass, would solicit so much scorn and ridicule, and would render the United States to the farcical level of a tinpot banana republic.

Oh happy days 🙂

The laws are being tested, and they are being shown to protect the majority very well.

You really need to ask yourself this question.

Do you buy something because someone tells you to? Have you been forced to wear something you don't like? 😆

Are you so suddenly so obedient you are so willing to be told what to wear or to buy out of a sudden during the Trump 1st Presidential term?

You see you are illustrating a case of dumb and dumber again.

The dumb ones are those who think they can force people to buy something, while the dumber ones think they have to comply.

While in government the key part is you do what is right for the country, you work for the country and not for yourself.

He is doing right for his country. The lesson for humanity is how much you give back.

It leaves you wide open to claims of self interest and allows people to question every single thing you do.

Are you concerned for President Trump?
Wouldn't it be good if he is corrupt and get kick out from his Presidency? Wouldn't that be the wish of the oppositions?
If he has done wrong the law will deal with him while personal opinions are plentiful.

We don't all aspire to live in the corrupt world, sometimes we set standards higher and expect people to follow them - especially those who made such a big deal of "Draining the swamp"
If you are so easily influenced then what hope do you have in life? If you have to aspire to another living being for your moral guides then what chance do you have to live this life untarnished?

It's a case of winner takes all. Both sides should maintain the challenge until one side gives up then the final one standing is the winner. Majority or minority is irrelevant. Winner takes all so everyone should just use all the tricks in the book. 😆

chewkw: the existing laws do protect the majority.
When the circumstances require I would agree that laws should be tested in court.
Trump signed an EO; it is not a law.
He will find that checks and balances inherent and embedded in the constitution will constrain him; he either accepts or walks or is impeached.
Bigger concern is Bannon; how long before Kushner recommends removing him?

Do you all have a death wish?

Given the mass logic fails in his posts any threat would be mitigated by him quickly shooting himself in the foot in an attempt to work out how to disagree with everyone.
