[Closed] dog washing?

Nothing quite like the aroma of a wet dog. Towel and given some time it'll subside.

Get him in the bath, properly shampoo him. I use baby shampoo (won't cause any skin reaction) and really scrub for ten minutes, then rinse off the (loads of) hair that comes off.

Towel dry, and revel in the smell of clean dog.

Then curse once they run around the park and roll in horse poo about ten minutes after you leave the house.

pups smell more..... dont over wash him ! too much washing takes out their natural 'oils'... what have you called him (vampire) ? lol pups dont half have some needle sharp teeth too ! 😉

I'd avoid washing with too much shampoo. Whenever our dog is squeaky clean she immediately finds the biggest, smelliest heap of crap to roll around in.

Best thing is to teach the mutt to swim, then chuck them in a river on the way home from any muddy walks.

That's what I do with the lab, stick Thames shampoo, stick Thames rinse.

Works a treat I always use dog shampoo she seems to like it.

She still stinks after a few days though. Labs love mud and water so you're stuck really.

Can you wash Labradors? I wish someone had told me 10 years ago.

labs love anything smelly.....and the Bedlington follows her aswell

Don't wash them with any kind of deturgent unless absolutely essential - it removes the natural oils and can seriously irritate their skin. If you need to, just use the hose. Just leave them somewhere to dry off and they'll be fine. We have 5 working labs and they never get shampooed - and yes they do live in the house
