Really important question. My wellies have holes in them. I need something easy to slip on (can’t be arsed with walking boots)that will be comfortable for up to an hours walk 2 or 3 times a day (I ha e a hyper springador...)

Was looking around for a slightly more comfy welly when I stumbled across a Dickies Rigger boot and thought that could be a better option.

Anyone wear them for work (or play) and give any feedback?

I mooch about in riggers in winter because I’m too tight to buy proper wellies. In fact I did 12 miles in them the other day. Not as comfy as boots but perfectly fine for shorter distances.

Oh I’ve never been on a horse in my life these are good fit at the top avoiding the normal welly slap

Muck Boots Edgewater do the job for me. Expensive for a wellie but worth it

The problem I've found with walking in rigger boots is that unless they fit really well around the heel, your keep having to stop to pull your socks up.

Another welly option is a Nokian Finntrim boot - it's a short boot with a stiffening shank and is pretty well the type of footwear most Scandis wear outside of summer. You can fit metal ice studs too. We've had a couple of pairs in the household for over 25 years - most wellies like Hunters die in a fraction of that time.

I bought some dickies Chelsea boots with that kind of idea.

They are very uncomfortable for walking. Not recommended at all.

Great for working in the garden or garage though.

If you're going out for an hour's dog walk, take the time to lace up a pair of boots, you lazy git.
