We have enrolled in dog obedience classes for Dottie and we are now into our second week of training and third week of the course.

On the first week of the course one elderly women turned up who had purchased a puppy yet she didn't know what breed it was and said she couldn't make the first couple of weeks because she had something more important to do.

Last night she turned up to the class as her previous engagement had been cancelled.

Unfortunately I was the one sitting next to her and she spent the whole hour moaning and telling her dog off because it wouln't sit still. 'IT'S A PUPPY FFS, IT'S EXITED BY ALL THE DISTRACTIONS' She managed to get her puppy to settle for a little bit and she then turned to me told me to control my dog as she doesn't want Dottie to bite her dog's tail and start it off again even though she wasn't interested in him, although she was okay with hers constantly lunging at Dottie trying to bite her. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

When we were being taught how to give our puppies commands she questioned the techniques and wasn't convinced it was the right way to do it. What do they know, they've only been running the club for 40 years and attend Crufts every year. ๐Ÿ™„

With half an hour to go she had lost all interest in training a wanted to go home and made sure I knew that. It would be better for the class if she didn't turn up again but it wouldn't be fair on her dog as I could see it becoming frustrated and disobedient because of this.

Next week I will not be sitting near her. ๐Ÿ˜ก And relax.

On the plus side all the other puppies are lovely and Dottie did very well. ๐Ÿ˜€

At least it was actually a puppy, my sister had a couple bring in their new 'puppy' concerned it wasn't growing.

They had been told it was a rotweiller, she had to point out they had actually been sold a brown & black guinea pig. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

The classes are more about training the owner than the dog, and you do need to make a commitment to doing the work or you'll get nowhere.
You have the right idea tho, move away and let her waste her time on her own, chances are she wont be back anyway.

Ah, the British reserve!
I probably would've been the same, but can you imagine an American putting up with such behaviour? ๐Ÿ™‚

Dog training - a very necessary pain in the back side! The pressure, the stress, the embarrassment! Absolutely hated it, but glad we did.
