I put some hubs on the classifieds and he was the first to respond, but they are for his mate, his mate contacts me later and says he wants them. He pays through paypal (not gift) with what I assume is his good lady's account, and asks me to send them to speshpaul as he is building the wheels for him.

I am starting to think that makes me a little uncomfortable, so am going to email him and say I will only send them to the paypal verified address. When I check on paypal there is no verified address.

Could and hopefully is all above board, but the only reason I am now posting this is just in case there has been some shenanigans someone might draw its attention to him.

When I started writing this is was to ask if any well known users could vouch for them, now I see it all in black and white it looks far more dodgy than I first considered, I am probably going to cancel the transaction.

I bought something ages ago from Speshpaul - I don't remember what it was now, but it was hassle free.

I bought speshpaul's Specialised Enduro frame off the classifieds for the wife, so he's not really Speshpaul anymore, should be called exspeshpaul.

Well I am sending to someone who I cannot verify is actually is peshpaul, who has no verifiable paypal address and paypals T&C's state that "We have no shipping address on file. So this transaction is not eligible for PayPal seller protection."

MSP - I think it's perfectly legitimate to be concerned. In this case, I've think you're done the right thing by asking on here. Speshpaul is a fairly regular contributor so I reckon you're be safe.

I'm sure he'll be along soon enough. It's a name that's been around here for years.

I used to ride with Paul when I was living in Shropshire... He's a good guy and builds good wheels for his mates... Sounds legit to me..
