Eldest has been bitten by a monkey in Thailand and is having his rabies jabs. Question is if he gets his follow up in the uk a day late, will it matter? The one after that would be on Christmas Day so will need to then come forward a day, so returning to the original cycle.

The surgery will only order it once he is back in the uk and the correct timing would need it the day he lands, but it takes a day to get it.
He could get a train to London to get from the tropical meds hospital or pay privately.
What did his GP say?
Just give them a ring for advice on it.
GP is saying can’t order till in country. So I guess they think it’s okay. Just not sure if it’s ‘okay’ or ‘all we can do’.
If it was me I wouldn’t care but the boy seems stressed about it.

I think it's the first vaccine that's important, ideally within 24hrs. I think for the follow-ups, a day's delay won't make a difference. I'll check with one of the GPs or nurses here, but it's not a routine thing we deal with so they may not know the guidelines.
Edit: just checked with a GP, He's said that it won't make a difference.

A travel medicine centre might advise?
You might get more joy from somewhere that does travel injections. You would still pay at the gp.

Hope OP's son gets what he needs, it's a disease I've always had an irrational (being UK based) fear of having read too much about it at too young an age!
Oh, and as other's have mentioned; your GP is probs not the best place to go. We're generally not set up for these sort of treatments unless your GP specifically deals with travel vaccines. Dedicated travel vaccine centres and some larger city Boots are your best bet. They probs have the vaccine to hand (we'd have to order it) are probs more familiar using it, and are probably more up to date on the guidelines, and you'll have to pay for it regardless.

I was in a similar position some years ago after being bitten by a dog in Tibet. Initial jabs local, follow ups elsewhere in China, final one upon return to the UK once the GP stopped faffing about. I'm still alive.
Tell him to watch this, it'll calm him down.
Oh I think he assumed GP would be free as he has been bitten rather than is going on hols.

More seriously, my dad got bitten years ago in Africa and had exactly this problem, first and second shot he got locally at a private clinic (paid for by the zoo where he got bitten). Third one was due while we were travelling, plus a hotel stay on the return to the UK. Rang the GP back in the UK to ask them and they were only concerned on timing of the first couple (something like 24 hours and then 72 or 96) and made an appointment for when we'd be back home, which was ~36 hours late.
