I've got man flu, and I'm completely full of snot. Poor me. 😥
There's only one thing I want to eat when I'm feeling sorry for myself like this...
with Warburtons toasty bread to dip in it
Whats your default food when you're poorly sick then?
*sniff*
Same here fella, Manflu in full effect.
Weirdly mine is Heinz Chicken soup.
I always find i eat and drink a lot when i have a cold/manflu
Bacon sarnie.
Btw binners, is the man flu courtesy of your kids? The school/nursery colds and flu season seems to have kicked in here too 🙁
Bacon and beans on toast.
Unsmoked, Branston beans, Lurpak, Warbies medium.
Man flu - Beans on toast topped with grated mature cheddar and a soupçon of broon sauce.
Mental Health issues - Sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Must be from the Wing Lee.
Pint of hot toddy,
Hot water
At least 4 measures of single malt
Table spoon of honey
Half a lemon mashed
1/4 tspoon of proper ginger grated
Sends you nuts for 20mins then very mellowwwww.........
+1 to Heinz tomato soup, only time it's ever cracked open (happy to have any other Heinz soup at any other time)
ringstingly hot curry !!!!
Not food but I tend to put masala in my tea (my mates mum does it and I picked up the habit) and that makes me feel better.
Cup of harden up (marketed as Lemsip Max) and Marmite sandwiches.
Right now anything. I'm fasting today on the 5:2 diet 🙁
+1 for a hot curry.
Lucozade
Angel Delight (choc/banana/strawb - butterscotch is for weirdo's)
A nice pigs head normally perks me up.

This made me chuckle
😆Man flu - Beans on toast topped with grated mature cheddar and a soupçon of broon sauce.
For me, its Heinz Tommy soup too with white pepper and some Worcester Sauce. With a cheese toastie 🙂
Nope I have no connection with food and feeling good. It's just fuel
Eggs mashed in a cup
2x soft boiled eggs
1x slice of white (cheap and nasty) buttered (thickly spread) bread
salt and black pepper
Cut the bread into squares
Put the squares into a mug
Shell and tip the soft boiled eggs into the mug
Add salt and pepper
Mix it up with a spoon
Turn on the telly to Pebble Mill at One
Eat
Feel better.
Mrs Binners, bless her little cotton socks, has just sent me a picture of the Man Flu First Aid Kit she's put together for me when I get home.
Mrs Binners, in nurses uniform, just out of shot?
Nope I have no connection with food and feeling good. It's just fuel
You're doing it wrong.
No really
whisky a bottle makes me feel better at the time, seems to prolong the sickness though
Watermelon.
Baked beans with added pepper and smoke paprika on Sainsburys taste the difference spelt and sunflower bread (marmited, of coursel

That's as sad as having no connection with sex and feeling good, it's just babymaking. 🙁
I like Heinz tomato soup with cheese on toast to dip in.

+1
Spicy hot veggie curry or a 5/6 hr beef hot pot done in the aga.
Add chili powder to everything, sweat it out.
Kraft Cheesy Macaroni 😳
Surely a greggs pasty would suffice, would it not?
Plate of chips, covered in chilli con carne and then melted cheddar cheese on the top
Whiskey and hot lemonade. I nuke one of the sharp cloudy ones in the microwave. Strangely enough it still remains fizzy. Add as much scotch as necessary.
Begin sweating your cold out. Fall asleep shortly afterwards.
For bad colds I always make chicken soup with loads of onions, garlic and chilli.
I always lose my sense of taste, so usually go off food completely, if I have a heavy cold.
Cheese on toast is top of the "got my taste back" recovery foods.
agree with rocketman,
only came in here for inspiration but all im seeing is bucket loads of cheese.
ive checked the fridge, there is no cheese.
Ho wmany recipes would you like Bin bins 😛
Fish finger sandwiches.
Chicken and Chorizzo risotto.
Chilli.
Toad in the hole.
I thought we might be having a rare moment of agreement on food with the tomato soup JY. No animals were harmed during the making of this meal 🙂
It was just what was needed though
No, pretty much eat the same things every day, fuel innit.
Put sausages and potato wedges in baking dish.
Season with whatever (smoked paprika, mixed herbs or just S+P).
Bake til nearly done.
Pour tin of beans on top.
Bake for another 5 or 10 minutes.
(Crack egg on top for the last couple of minutes if life's really bad).
(Add cheese if life's really really bad.)
Eat straight from dish.
Physically ill: No. I basically eat what's there and what I can keep down.
Feeling down: Anything with sugar in. Then I go to the gym, burn it all off and feel better.
Manflu = hot curry
My chicken noodle soup does the job. Makes me feel better, and has the added benefit of helping me feel better when ill.
In a large pan;
Chopped garlic
Chopped ginger
Two chillis, sliced lengthways
Ground pepper
Asparagus, sliced lengthways
Baby sweetcorn, as above
Spring onion, finely chopped
Good slug of fish sauce
Good slug of dark soy
Veg stock cube
Couple of pints of water
Leave it all to steep in the water for as long as you feel like
Bring to the boil, then drop in;
2x chicken breasts, diced
Egg noodles (Sharwood's medium work well)
Back to the boil, then serve, topped with a little chopped coriander and a good squeeze of lime juice.
Heavenly.
Is Neurofen Plus a food?
Two chillis, sliced lengthways
What kind of chillis are we talking about here? Mildly hot or crazy spicy?
I just tried to communicate with my taste buds with Gorgonzola on salt and pepper bread. I could just about taste it.

To taste! As with the garlic and ginger (FWIW, I use about four or five bits of garlic from the greengrocer, which are pretty big, and about a thumb sized piece of ginger.)
I use my own grown stuff, with the aim of giving it a nice kick, without being eyewatering.
Yes, eating it right now as I too have man flu - Ben & jerrys phish food ice cream ! Feeling better already
custard. and ice cream if its a particularly bad "need to feel better" moment.
in similar situation when I was ill as a kid, my folks would feed me hot milk with bread slices (not bad actually) or white bread with sugared butter. (eek, thinking back now...)
Physically ill doesn't happen too often - don't really feel like food beyond kids' cereal, biscuits, cake and toast.
Down in the dumps - all of the above and more. Explains why I'm such a buffer!
Going off quite a few comments on here, theres been a Thai Red Chicken Curry in the slow cooker since this morning. Plenty of chilli's 😀
Appetite suppressants.
Down in the dumps, Cherry pie(hot) and cold custard.
Poorly... was mostly breaded products last week with minor manflu
Fish & Chips or Chana dal with good bread/nan bread
Those are the two that come into my mind immediately ...
Or if man flu is bad then porridge ... with sugar.
When I'm ill, tin of fruit salad/mandarins. No idea why, its a childhood thing.
Rest of the time, anything from the Kamran curry house in town.
Vodka?
