???
i assume BC pay some of the track cyclists, but is there a performance/attendance fee etc?
For some,
US pay tax on winnings.
but sounds like national federation awards it.
At least some of them do- according to this article on the BBC a US athlete would get $25k for a gold medal.
EDIT: Only Silver for me though!
cash for gold
Yes, that BBC article is pretty crap - of course you'll pay tax if your local federation pay you.
The IOC do not get give any out but national federations might, sport dependant, and an athletes may have have a performance contracts with some of their sponsors.
For instance Liam Killian would almost certainly have something in his contract for top 10 places in OS, World Champs, and World Cups from Giant.
Team GB aren't paid, and don't get paid anything for winning a medal either. I guess it could well effect your lottery funding if you do much worse/better than expected though.
ta ๐
It's around 13-26k depending on experience/medal potential
Edit: for team gb cyclists that is
