I buy it occasionaly from Tesco's.
Some of the content is great , some of it dull.
I dont mind the adverts , great to see whats available at what price point.
The new revamped version is definatly an improvement . Really like the picture content and print quality .
The bike reviews are good, unlike some other mags whose automatic 50mm stem / 800mm bar upgrade 'transforms' every bike into a trail center slayer.
Maybe some low end reviews , road trips and event reports might improve things further.
Have been a subscriber for several years, since (runs upstairs) issue 16 in 2004 - have them all.
Recently started a sub to 'Privateer' and very, very impressed with the quality and content.
(Just about to cancel 'Dirt' sub.)
So, has anyone actually had their free t-shirt on the offer thing? Or had an email about it? ๐
Nope. It's a great mag, used to buy it all the time but its too expensive for me now.

How much is it?
Wouldn't readership and revenues increase if the advertising and/or cost were increased sufficiently to reduce the cover price (to free)?
Our ad limit is 33% and has never been higher than that
For comparison, the OH was reading some vacuous wimmin's magazine the other night, Red or something (don't judge her, she also buys New Scientist). Flicking through pages to a point of distraction, I shoulder-surfed her to see why. The first page she hit with actual content rather than adverts and pseudo-promotional full-page 'buy this crap' was page 79.
Photography is stunning,
I think that point is worth another mention.
As a budding(*) photographer, the one thing that initially drew me to the magazine was the spectacular photography. It's hit and miss, sure, but when it's right it's really right.
(* - shit)
I did, for years but ended it about six months ago or so. The mag lost its appeal really, I really enjoyed ferrento and the one or two page articles but I saw less an less of what I wanted or was intrested in. Worland wasn't a patch for me in comparison. So left off or a few months or so now buy a copy in smiths after a flick if there is bits I like. Did enjoy 76 though so maybe the new style is back to the original which I loved.
I have been enjoying peloton, and privateer at the mo......
Not any more, not because of any faults with the mag, but because I hardly ride these days, and I've stopped buying most of the mags that I used to get. Only buy Wired (subscribe) and Uncut now.
I unsubscribed about six months ago as I was finding the whimsical writing and atmosphere of pootling round far flung hills which I don't have the time to visit somewhat depressing. I prefer the vibe of Dirt but the writing is rather sketchy. However, I'm thinking of getting a digital subscription because there's good stuff in there amongst the self-absorbed musings and general non-ragging feeling. I know Singletrack have quick riders amongst their staff - can we have some 'shredding' without Dirt's DH and DJ focus? Full-speed Singletrack as it were...
the [s]mag[/s]website has always been focussed on middle aged fat knackers
FTFY
Recent subscriber here, not because (as someone claimed) of the recent forum purges but because i bought the mag anyway. When the reboot came along i thought i'd see how it looked before taking the plunge.
I really liked the look, feel and general layout of the mag so signed up for the mag+digital package.
Plus i actually got a tee-shirt! ๐
