I have just spent a few minutes over lunch having a browse of the comments on Yahoo news. There is so much hate filled bile on there I was taken aback. Practically any news item ends up being racist... pretty extreme stuff too. Don't they have any moderators on that website?

Anyway, I never realised we were such an intolerant lot... or am I just being naive?

Well just look at how many copies the Daily Mail sells a day. And thats a despicable rag. Paul Dacre has stated he wants his readership to actively hate people when they've read his articles.

Just ignore them. I'd no more pick up a copy of the Mail than lop off my own gonads

Luckily we don't hate anyone else as much as we hate ourselves.

No we don't. We live in a remarkably tolerant and open society.

Yahoo comments are bloody awful. Hard to believe the levels of bile hate and ignorance that gets posted on there. Grim stuff that fortunately has no relevance on my day to day life.

If I listened to those morons I'd barely be able to go outside in Dundee for fear of getting my face redistributed for being a sassenach. Fortunately back in the real world, most folk are pretty damn decent likeable human beings.

That said, I don't know many peeps that read the Daily Mail

There are a few papers that do nothing but stoke hatred and intolerance to rally their readers and maintain sales eg Daily Mail, Daily Express. They have a lot to answer for.

It's all relative, really. Potholes on 95% of Russian roads would make worst roads in Britain look like the autobahn. Same applies to driving standards and Internet commentards.

nols is right, it's a sort of self-selection

same as the hardcore few negative, miserable tossers who post on 2/3rds of the threads on here. You know who they are, and so do they deep down.

I blame the weather. Why doesn't it go back to its own country, bringing all that rain with it!

I don't believe you. Given the choice buying a copy of the biggest selling newspaper in the uk has got to better than chopping your balls off. You can always use it for wiping your ar$e and it's cheaper than bog role. Bog role does make a more interesting read.
