Our insurance broker has suggested it but looking into it, it seems that this is only something you would get if you have a business or maybe if you are a landlord (which we aren't).
Any insurance experts who can help?

Your home insurance usually includes a bit of liability insurance. Say I came round your house and tripped over your carpet or slipped up your back passage etc.

I then sue etc etc

Why are you coming round my house? I didn't invite you. Are you stalking me? And suing me as well? B*****d

Thanks for the reply, I'll find out how much is included in the building insurance he's finding us.

You should already be covered for several million squid under your Standard Liability.

slipped up your back passage etc.

I don't think my insurance would cover the pain you'd receive for going anywhere near my back passage.
