Do airlines carry any insurance against being able to trade/fly etc?

Doubt it. Easier to maintain large liquidity reserves to weather something like this. Should think most low-cost carriers have sufficient liquidity for about six months.

IIRC thats why they stopped flying in the 1st place because the insurers withdrew their cover to fly certain routes.

I doubt however that it will cover them for being unable to fly due to acts of god.
