I need to do a lot of filming in various locations throughout Austria. Not really action filming. More standing in front of a building talking.
What camera would you guys suggest?
I was thinking either DJI Osmo pocket or Gopro Hero 8. anything i missed? do have a Galaxy Note 10. Should I just use that?
Thanks in advance

Budget?

Neither really ideal for that.

I'd be googling vlogging cameras to see what is preferred and then if you want to keep the cost down, what was preferred a year or three ago hat you might be able to get cheaper.

I've do a bit of this type of stuff myself for work in the current crisis with my DSLR. A fast lens that can generate a shallow depth of field (making a blurry background) makes big difference to the professionalism. My Nikon has a terrible autofocus so it was all manually focused and the rear screen does not articulate round so you can see yourself which was both a pain in the arse.

Also - how many takes do I need for every scene!!! My brain goes to mush.

The new Sony ZV1 vlogging camera looks interesting.

Or plenty of decent mirrorless interchangeable cameras available. eg Sony or Panasonic Lumix. Depends on how much you want to spend, and how compact you want.
I think a flip up screen is very useful, so you can see what you are filming.
Also consider the sound quality. Would want to plug in an external microphone.

I wouldn't bother with a GoPro unless it needs to be small/waterproof.
Your phone plus an extra microphone could be pretty good to start with.

I don't want to spend too much. Hence my choices. 400 Euro max

Forgot about that bit - HUGE difference. Could not justify Rode money but bought a £29 thing from amazon and it worked a treat.

Could probably get a second hand Lumix G7 with the kit lens for about £300. It would be pretty good for vlogging. Has a mic input, and full swivel screen, and records 4K.

Or maybe a Sony RX100 mark III if you want something smaller, though it lacks a mic input.

Could plug a lavalier mic into your phone and put it in your pocket. Then combine the audio with the video afterwards. Looks like the Galaxy Note 10 doesn't have a 3.5mm socket, so would need a USB-C adapter.

Ive got the osmo pocket. It has some annoyances and requires many accessories to make it usable some of which cannot be used at the same time!!! WiFi,audio in etc. File management is pants and story feature makes a real mess of this. I should have bought a gimbal and stuck with gx7 or got small blogging Sony or similar. If you want good audio use a zoom/tascam/Olympus and sync later.
