Nice one. The new album is really good.
Nice one. The new album is really good.
apart from one or two tracks I thought it was a bit meh.
i'll have another listen.
how does it stack up against Endtroducing and Private Press Dezzy?
didnt like it at all.
Last 30-45 mins it okay but everything else just drags it down.
shame as I had high hopes
so far so wack ๐
30 minutes in and no musicality.. It sounds like any teenager trying way too hard to be experimental with a memory stick full of shonky industrial dub downloads down at my local arts center on a weekend..
I'm not hearing any of the mindblowing super progressive stuff that we used to love Shadow for... gonna turn it off ๐
disappointed
Gave up with him years ago. That's the problem when he sets himself such incredibly high standards!
Not had a chance to listen to the new album yet, big fan of his, but would be a bigger fan if he actually put out sooner music to match the greatness of entroducing.
Some interesting moments, It's all about Mark Pritchard Under the album for me, masterpiece.
Thanks Rewski..
have stuck this on instead and it's already hitting the right spot

Liked the new album, didn't like this. Turned off after 30 mins.
Didn't like this, don't like the new album.
Shame as I've previously liked virtually everything he has put out.
You welcome yunki, yes the NTS mix is awesome, lots of prog and folk, very trippy.
If you're a music geek this Q&A on gearslutz is interesting

Well.. it's different, so that's one good thing. To be honest, I only gave it one listen (I have a personal problem which involves trying to listen to EVERYTHING!) and it sounded good.
I'll give it another go tonight and post a "review". ๐
Right then, yeah - I still think it's a damn good album. Trouble is, everyone's ripped him off so much it's hard for the guy to sound original. Some superb stuff on the album - track with Run The Jewels is great. Bergschrund is great, more mellow. Anyway, go to his bandcamp page and you can stream it and make up yer own mind can'tcha.
Really enjoyed the Essential Mix.
Will listen a few times.
The album is fine - some good tracks - some leave me cold. Better than the last couple for me though.
I went and listened to Brainfeeze again last night - that is so amazing!
I thought the Essential Mix was fine, pretty much along the lines I expected. Shadow has always been a bit patchy IMO, even Endtroducing has a few tracks that are dross.
Rewski& Yunki, thanks for the heads up on the Mark Pritchard stuff, not heard him before. I do love weird and wonderful mixes and this certainly hits the spot. One of my favourite weird mixes is European Vacation by Format, here's a link:
