use a recovery program on the memory card

Have you tried downloading the card via a card reader?

Sounds like the memory card might have got corrupted, you will have to format it in the camera, but that would mean losing everything

yes I tried a card reader and the camera I could only download 164 pics out of 350+, earlier i could review the pics on the camera now bugger all

Tried to re format the SD card still no good new pics do not come out either

SD card fugged, just tried the lads card in the camera all ok

As above, try a recovery program, you might still be able to recover them despite formatting the card.

Def worth a recovery program...my camera refused to take pics, told me that the card was corrupt. Thought stuff it, reformatted it anyway and ended up buying a new card.

Mean while my dad refused to give up on the old card, ran it thru the recovery program, and despite having been reformatted at least twice, every single photo ever taken on the card was recovered, whether they had been deleted or not!

All is not lost.....you should still have those important pictures with any luck!

I have pics of my retriver's first outing in the snow to save, yep I am a soft git 🙂

have spoken to my dad and he says that the one he used has been updated, but he reckons this should still do the job. If not, let me know as he says he still has the original.

Go to zero assumption recovery ( www.z-a-recovery.com )and go to the 'free digital camera image recovery function'.

but in future a tip is not to format the card until all recovery attempts have failed! Cards are cheap but photos can be priceless.
