3's better than 2.

2 and 4 both stretch my ability to turn my brain off.

haven't seen 5, not sure i want to.

^^^ is the correct answer

2 is watchable, has it moments, and to me "feels" like Die Hard. 3 is a better film but IMO not very Die-Hardy. Could be any action film/franchise.

4 and 5 are just terrible. Couldn't sit through all of either of them.

Isn't that all of them? (I've only seen 1 and that fits)

Maybe because it was written as a stand alone action movie and almost became Lethal Weapon 4.

Or something like that. I think I read that 1 was the only script written as an actual 'Die Hard' all the others were adapted from other scripts.

Not really a movie nerd so feel free to correct me.

Even got boxed set of the lot and I usually just watch the first which is awesome and can't be bothered with the rest.

1 - Easy win
2 - As long as it's the full version (Icicle as a weapon). The melon farmer version drops to 3rd
3 - SLJ + BW combo works well. The puzzle with the water annoys me as they go a really convoluted way to the solution.
4 - Far too silly. Timothy Olyphant does his best as the baddy but even he can't rescue it
5 - Haven't seen it, but Jai Courtney automatically relegates to last

@sharkattack you're right about 3 - it was so obviously a recast Lethal Weapon film - me and my mates realised as soon as we watched it, without knowing, only confirmed later after a bit of checking.

Although it was originally, originally written as something else, rewritten into a Lethal Weapon, and then re-re-written to be a Die Hard.

1,3,2 seems right. With 1 being leagues ahead of the others. 4 was awful and I honestly don't even know if I've seen the fifth one. Is it set in Russia and really shite? If so, I think I fell asleep watching it one Christmas.

Do I get banned if I say I've never really been into them? 1 is "I'll watch it if it comes on the TV and there's nothing better than a Top Gear re-run on" 2 and 3 sort of merge into one, I couldn't tell you which was the Samuel L Jackson one and which is the Airport one, didn't bother with 4 and there's a 5?

What do you mean even? He can't act there was no way he could do anything with that.

1.
2.
3.

Then I read something about Brucey insisting that people don't look at him whilst he's making a film.

So I don't.

The one where he helps that kid deal with his pesky ghosts is quite good. Not much action though.

Best Die Hard movies?

1: Die Hard
2: Approximately 15minutes of The Fifth Element where JohnMcLean suddenly appears wearing a torn shirt/vest and kicks both alien and Gary Oldman butt.
3: Approximately 22minutes of Looper (but that might have been Joseph Gordon Levitt with a dodgy false nose)
4: DieHard2 and Die Hard 3 tied

Note that any episode of Moonlighting has better gritty realism and drama than Die Hard5
Or Blind Date for that matter.
Or indeed Hudson Hawk.

Yippee kayay to all you melon farmers.

4 grew on me the second time I saw it, some good action scenes. I'm going for:

1
2
4
3

Haven't seen 5 but it looked terrible.
